Dynamo Moscow (women's Basketball)
WBC Dynamo Moscow (russian: ЖБК Динамо Москва) is a Russian women's basketball club playing in the Russian Premier League. Founded in 1923, it was one of the most successful teams in the early stages of the Soviet Championship, winning its first 6 seasons and 5 more titles up to 1958. Dynamo culminated this golden era reaching in 1959 the final of the inaugural edition of the European Cup, which they lost to Slavia Sofia. Four decades later Dynamo emerged briefly as the leading Russian team, winning four Russian Championships in a row and reaching the Euroleague's Final Four in 2000. While the team gradually declined in subsequent years, in 2007 it won the EuroCup, its first international FIBA trophy. MGO VFSO "Dynamo" (russian: МГО ВФСО «Динамо»), commonly known as Dynamo Moscow (russian: Динамо Москва) is a Russian sports club based in Moscow. Founded by Felix Dzerzhinsky on 18 April 1923, Dynamo Moscow was the first institution created from the All-Union Dynamo Sports Club. Dynamo Moscow developed numerous athletes. Ana Dabović (Serbian Cyrillic: Ана Дабовић; born August 18, 1989) is a Serbian professional basketball player for the BLMA of the French Ligue 1 and EuroLeague Women. Crystal Allison Langhorne (born October 27, 1986) is an American former basketball player of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). She played for the University of Maryland Terrapins. In 2008 she was drafted by the Washington Mystics. High school Langhorne is a graduate of Willingboro High School in Willingboro, New Jersey. Langhorne was named a WBCA All-American. Rebekkah Brunson (born December 11, 1981) is an American basketball coach, currently an assistant coach with the Minnesota Lynx of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). Brunson is a former forward for the Lynx and is the only player to win 5 WNBA championships. She held the WNBA record for rebounding, which she ceded to Lynx's center Sylvia Fowles in 2020. Brunson was born in Washington, D.C. and attended Oxon Hill High School in Maryland. Seimone Delicia Augustus (born April 30, 1984) is an American former professional basketball player who is currently an assistant coach for the Los Angeles Sparks of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). She was drafted first overall by the Minnesota Lynx in the 2006 draft and, but for her final season in 2020 with the Sparks, played her entire career with Minnesota. Anete Jēkabsone-Žogota (born August 12, 1983) is a former Latvian basketball player. She ended her career in 2016. She is a daughter of former VEF Rīga star player Andris Jēkabsons. Jēkabsone-Žogota played for Dynamo Moscow. She joined the club in 2006–07 season after Ainārs Zvirgziņš was named head coach of the team. Before that she played for USO Mondeville and CJM Bourges Basket, both which are teams from France.
