Alfred Hutchinson Dymond
Alfred Hutchinson Dymond (August 21, 1827 – May 11, 1903) was a Canadians, Canadian writer and politician. Born in Croydon, England, the son of Henry Dymond, he emigrated to Canada in 1869. He was an editorial writer for the ''Toronto Globe'' (now the Toronto Globe and Mail after amalgamation). In 1874 he was elected to sit for York North in the Parliament of Canada. He was re-elected in a contested by-election in 1875 and continued to sit until being defeated in the 1878 Canadian federal election, general election of 1878. He was appointed to the Agriculture Commission which published five volumes during his tenure as chief executive officer. In 1880 he was appointed principal of the Ontario School for the Blind. Originally a Society of Friends, Quaker, in 1852, Dymond married Helen Susannah Henderson, an Church of England, Anglican, and later became active in the Anglican church. Matthew Dymond
Matthew Bulloch Dymond, (September 24, 1911 – February 21, 1996) was a politician in Ontario, Canada. He was a Progressive Conservative member of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario from 1955 to 1975 who represented the riding of Ontario. He served as a cabinet minister in the governments of Leslie Frost and John Robarts. Background Dymond was born in Aberdeenshire, Scotland, and emigrated to Canada in his teens, where he completed his high school education. He received his Doctor of Medicine, from Queen's University in 1941 and he did post-graduate work in Kingston and Toronto before joining the Royal Canadian Army Medical Corps. He served in Canada, England, and Western Europe with the Surgical Division of Number 10 Canadian General Hospital. After the war, he set up general practice in Port Perry, Ontario, in 1946. Jonathan Dymond
Jonathan Dymond (1796–1828) was an English Quaker and an ethical philosopher who is known for his monograph ''An Enquiry into the Accordancy of War with the Principles of Christianity''. Life Jonathan Dymond was the son of a Quaker linen-draper of Exeter, County Devon in England. Both his parents were 'Recorded Ministers' of the Society of Friends. He had little formal education but used his time off from working in his father's shop to read and to write essays on religious and moral problems, as well as composing poetry. He determined that he should devote his energies to 'the honour of advocating peace'. In his view war was "an evil before which, in my estimation, slavery sinks into insignificance". In 1825 he attended the annual meeting of the Peace Society in London and went on to help set up a branch of that society in Exeter. Dymond Creek is a tributary of the Susquehanna River in Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, in the United States. It is approximately long and flows through Franklin Township and Exeter Township. The watershed of the creek has an area of . The creek is not designated as impaired and its drainage basin is a Coldwater Fishery and a Migratory Fishery. The surficial geology in its vicinity consists of Wisconsinan Till, Wisconsinan Outwash, Wisconsinan Ice-Contact Stratified Drift, alluvium, alluvial fan, and bedrock. Course Dymond Creek begins in a valley in Franklin Township. It flows east for a short distance before turning northeast and entering Exeter Township and the census-designated place of Upper Exeter.
