Dustin Wells (born 31 May 1983) is an Australian Football (soccer), footballer who plays for Belconnen United FC, Belconnen United in the National Premier Leagues. Club career Wells joined National Soccer League side Wollongong Wolves from the Australian Institute of Sport - Football (soccer), AIS ahead of the 2001–02 National Soccer League, 2001–02 season, aged eighteen. He was immediately selected as part of Wollongong's first-team squad and became a frequent starter by the end of the season. In September 2004, Wells trialled for Romanian club CS Dinamo București, Dinamo București, along with fellow Australian Ryan Griffiths (soccer), Ryan Griffiths. Kiama () is a coastal town 120 kilometres south of Sydney in the Illawarra. One of the main tourist attractions is the Kiama Blowhole. Richard Johnson (soccer)
Richard Mark Johnson (born 27 April 1974) is an Australian former footballer. Johnson played for English club Watford for 12 years, making 278 appearances and achieving back-to-back promotions to reach the Premiership in 1999. Following a loan spell at Northampton Town, he played for Colchester United, Stoke City, Queens Park Rangers, Milton Keynes Dons in England after leaving Watford, before finished his career in the A-League with Newcastle United Jets, New Zealand Knights and Wellington Phoenix. Michael Cockerill (20 November 1960 – 31 August 2017) was an investigative Australian football (soccer) journalist who wrote for Fairfax newspapers, Fox Sports (Australia), Fox Sports and formerly C7 Sport. He was also a football pundit and match commentator and appeared regularly on the football show Fox Sports FC. In 2011, he was inducted into the Football Hall of Fame (Australia), Football Federation Australia Hall of Fame. It was announced that he had died from illness, just before the Japan–Australia World Cup qualifier on 31 August 2017. 2005–06 A-League
The 2005–06 A-League was the 29th season of top-flight soccer in Australia, and the inaugural season of the A-League. After over 12 months without a national professional club competition since the close of the 2003–04 National Soccer League season, the first match in the A-League was played on 26 August 2005. The competition was made up of a triple round robin league stage before a championship playoff featuring the top four teams. Of the eight participants, four came from the National Soccer League (1977–2004): Perth Glory (established 1995), New Zealand Knights (1999), Newcastle Jets (2000) and Adelaide United (2003).
