Dusted (Gin Blossoms Album)
''Dusted'' is the debut album by the alternative rock band the Gin Blossoms. It was released through San Jacinto Records, a small independent label as a 12-song tape and record in 1989. Six of the songs on this album were re-recorded by the band after they signed to A&M Records. "Keli Richards" and "Angels Tonight" were re-recorded and included on the 1991 EP ''Up and Crumbling''. "Hey Jealousy", "Found Out About You", "Cajun Song", and "Lost Horizons" were re-recorded and included in Gin Blossoms' 1992 album, ''New Miserable Experience''. The album in general has a faster tempo and a less produced sound than ''New Miserable Experience''. New Miserable Experience
''New Miserable Experience'' is the second studio album by alternative rock band Gin Blossoms, released on August 4, 1992. The album was released to little fanfare and relatively lackluster reviews. However, nearly a year after its release the lead single "Hey Jealousy" entered the top 40. With "Found Out About You" following a few months later, the album eventually reached multi-platinum status. Background The band's original lead guitarist, Doug Hopkins, was fired near the conclusion of the recording sessions for the album, ostensibly for his persistent alcohol problems. His replacement, Scott Johnson, is listed as a member of the band in the liner notes, but did not play on the album. Gin () is a distilled alcoholic drink that derives its flavour from juniper berries (''Juniperus communis''). Bill Leen (born March 1, 1962) is an American musician from Tempe, Arizona. He is the bass player of the band Gin Blossoms, which he co-founded in 1987 with his longtime friend Doug Hopkins. Leen graduated from McClintock High School in Tempe, then studied English and philosophy at Arizona State University, leaving during his junior year to devote his energy to music. He and Doug Hopkins played in a variety of local Tempe bands during the early 1980s, including The Moral Majority and The Psalms before moving to Portland, Oregon and forming The 10 o'Clock Scholars. His first taste of musical notoriety occurred while playing with the Psalms. Jesse Valenzuela
Jesse Valenzuela (born May 22, 1962) is an American rock musician and singer who is perhaps best known as a member of the alternative rock band Gin Blossoms. Valenzuela was originally the vocalist in Gin Blossoms when the band first formed in 1987. In 1988, he switched roles with the band's new guitarist, Robin Wilson. He continued to be a member until the band's breakup in 1997, and reunited with the rest of the group in 2002. Douglas Owen Hopkins (April 11, 1961 – December 5, 1993) was an American musician and songwriter. He co-founded Gin Blossoms, a popular modern rock band of the early 1990s, with Richard Taylor. "Found Out About You" is the fourth single from American rock band Gin Blossoms' second studio album, ''New Miserable Experience'' (1992). Written by lead guitarist Doug Hopkins, who was fired from the band after the album, it first appeared on their 1989 debut recording, '' Dusted''. Background "Found Out About You" was written by Hopkins in the mid-1980s and was the first song that singer Robin Wilson recalled demoing with the band when he joined. Wilson explained, Hopkins had high hopes for making a hit. Wilson recalled that Hopkins was "very specific" about how the vocals for the song turned out.
