Duncan McDonald (Scottish Footballer)
Duncan McDonald was a Scottish footballer, who played as a right-sided Defender (association football)#Full-back, full back Born in Bo'ness, McDonald started his career with Townside F.C., Townside before joining Arsenal F.C., Woolwich Arsenal in April 1909, but had to wait until 30 October 1909 to make his debut, against Manchester United F.C., Manchester United. After that, he was a near ever-present in the 1909–10 in English football, 1909–10 season, with Archie Gray (footballer, born 1887), Archie Gray out of form and Joseph E. Shaw, Joe Shaw moving to left back to cover, leaving a vacancy at right-back. However, in 1910–11 in English football, 1910–11 Gray forced his way back in and McDonald only played one league game all season. McDonald played 27 times for Arsenal in total, before leaving in the summer of 1911 for West Hartlepool F.C., West Hartlepool. Duncan McDonald (English Footballer)
Duncan McDonald was an English footballer who played in the Football League for Crewe Alexandra. Career McDonald started his career with Second Division side Crewe Alexandra, making his debut on 24 March 1893 in a 2–0 defeat away at Liverpool. He only managed two further appearances for the Railwaymen in 1894–95, one in the league and the other in an embarrassing 6–3 FA Cup defeat to Fairfield. McDonald left Crewe for Stoke where he spent the 1895–96 season with the reserve side playing in the Midland Football League. Sir Duncan McDonald (20 September 1921 – 23 February 1997) was a Scottish engineer and businessman closely associated with Northern Engineering Industries. He specialised in the development of ultra high voltage transformers. He pioneered the use of computers within the design process, and was one of the first to realise the potential of the Pacific Rim in business. Life He was born in Inverkeithing, under the shadow of the Forth Rail Bridge, the son of Robert McDonald, a cable-jointer with the South of Scotland Electricity Board, and his wife, Helen Orrick. He was raised in Inverkeithing then attended Dunfermline High School Dunfermline High School is one of four main high schools located in Dunfermline, Fife, Scotland.
