Dublin Community Television (DCTV) is a not-for-profit co-operative television station in Ireland, broadcasting from the country's capital, Dublin. The channel launched on 16 July 2008. Programming Programmes for DCTV are created and produced by sources which include: *Not-for-profit TV production companies, such as NEAR TV Productions in Coolock *Other DCTV member organisations, such as AONTAS (adult education), Cultivate (sustainable living), Project (arts); NALA (adult literacy) *Individual members of DCTV The station also shows international material such as Democracy Now! which has been broadcast nightly since 2010. Saorview
Saorview ( ) is the national digital terrestrial television (DTT) service in Ireland. It is owned by RTÉ and operated by 2RN. The service began operation on 29 October 2010 on a trial basis with a full launch on 26 May 2011. By legislation it was required to be available to approximately 90% of the population by end of October 2010 in a public testing capacity and nationwide by December 2011. The national public launch was preceded by a public information campaign, which began on 15 March 2011, with television and radio advertising beginning on 17 March 2011. Saorview was officially launched on 26 May 2011 by Minister for Communications, Energy and Natural Resources Pat Rabbitte and the service became the primary source of broadcast television in Ireland following the ending of analogue transmissions on 24 October 2012. Coolock () is a large suburban area, centred on a village, on Dublin city's Northside (Dublin), Northside in Republic of Ireland, Ireland. AONTAS
AONTAS - The Irish National Adult Learning Organisation is an Irish non-governmental organisation for the promotion and facilitation of adult learning. It was founded in 1969 by Fr. Liam Carey of the Dublin Institute of Adult Education (and originally based in the same premises), and launched by Brian Lenihan TD. Sean O'Murchu was elected its first president. In 1970 they affiliated to the European Bureay of Adult Education. In 1974 Aontas received funding from P.J. Carroll Ltd., allowing it to employ a full time director, funding a move in premises, and funding a research bursary. While it has been a non-governmental body, since 1976, it receives funding from the Department of Education and Skills. The Digital Hub is a cluster of technology, digital media and internet companies in The Liberties area of Dublin, Ireland.
