Dropped Frames
''Dropped Frames'' is a multi-album project by American musician Mike Shinoda, currently consisting of three volumes. ''Dropped Frames, Vol. 1'' was released on July 10, 2020, with subsequent volumes following on July 31 and September 18 of the same year. The project was composed interactively with fans on Shinoda's Twitch channel. All three albums were distributed via Kenji Kobayashi Productions, Shinoda's own company capitally related to Machine Shop co. With the exception of the opening track of volume 1, "Open Door", tracks on ''Dropped Frames'' are primarily instrumental. Background When the COVID-19 quarantine began, Shinoda became enamored with Twitch. The singer spent Monday through Friday making art on Twitch while fans gave feedback. Four days of every week involved making music, while one day per week was dedicated to creating visual art. Mike Shinoda
Michael Kenji Shinoda (; ja, 篠田 賢治, Shinoda Kenji; born February 11, 1977) is an American musician, singer, rapper, songwriter and record producer. He co-founded the rock band Linkin Park in 1996 and was the band's collaborative vocalist whilst Chester Bennington was lead vocalist, as well as rhythm guitarist, keyboardist, primary songwriter and producer. Shinoda later created a hip-hop-driven side project, Fort Minor, in 2004. He has also served as a producer for tracks and albums by Lupe Fiasco, Styles of Beyond and the X-Ecutioners. Born in Panorama City, Los Angeles, California, and raised in Agoura Hills, Shinoda formed Xero, which later became Linkin Park, with two of his high school friends: Brad Delson and Rob Bourdon in 1996, later joined by Joe Hahn, Dave Farrell and Mark Wakefield. Mariachi
Mariachi (, , ) is a genre of regional Mexican music that dates back to at least the 18th century, evolving over time in the countryside of various regions of western Mexico. The usual mariachi group today consists of as many as eight violins, two trumpets and at least one guitar, including a high-pitched vihuela and an acoustic bass guitar called a guitarrón, and all players taking turns singing lead and doing backup vocals. From the 19th to 20th century, migrations from rural areas into Guadalajara, along with the Mexican government's cultural promotion gradually re-labeled it as ''son'' style, with its alternative name of ''mariachi'' becoming used for the 'urban' form. Mastering, a form of audio post production, is the process of preparing and transferring recorded audio from a source containing the final mix to a data storage device (the master), the source from which all copies will be produced (via methods such as pressing, duplication or replication). In recent years digital masters have become usual, although analog masters—such as audio tapes—are still being used by the manufacturing industry, particularly by a few engineers who specialize in analog mastering. Elise Ashlyn Trouw (born April 27, 1999) is an American singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and record producer. Early life and education Trouw was born in Newport Beach, California to Arie and Anne Trouw. The family moved to San Diego when Trouw was young. At six, she learned to play the piano. At age ten, she started drum lessons. Trouw attended The Bishop's School from 7th to 11th grade, graduating before her senior year to pursue her music career. Mark Ramos Nishita (born February 10, 1960), known professionally as Money Mark, is an American producer and musician, best known for his collaborations with the Beastie Boys from 1992 until 2011. Early life Born in Detroit to a Japanese-Hawaiian father and a Chicano mother, Nishita moved with his family to Los Angeles, California when he was six. Dan Mayo (born 1 July 1990) is an Israeli drummer, composer, and educator, best known as the drummer of TATRAN, a power trio with Tamuz Dekel on guitar and Offir Benjaminov on bass. Biography Mayo began playing the drums at the age of 3, participating in musical events at school from the age of 6, while developing skills on the piano, saxophone, and marimba. Released on June 15, 2018 under Shinoda's own name instead of his Fort Minor moniker, it is his second solo studio album after Fort Minor's ''The Rising Tied''. The album was announced on March 29, 2018, along with the release of two songs to promote the album, "Crossing a Line" and "Nothing Makes Sense Anymore".
