''Drone'' is a 2014 English-language documentary film directed by Norwegian director Tonje Hessen Schei. The film explores the use of drones in warfare. Drone Warfare
Drone warfare is a form of aerial warfare using unmanned combat aerial vehicles (UCAV) or weaponized commercial unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV). The United States, United Kingdom, Israel, China, South Korea, Iran, Italy, France, India, Pakistan, Russia, Turkey, and Poland are known to have manufactured operational UCAVs as of 2019. As of 2022, the Ukrainian enterprise Ukroboronprom and NGO group Aerorozvidka have built strike-capable drones and used them in combat. Drone attacks can be conducted by commercial UCAVs dropping bombs, firing a missile, or crashing into a target. Since the turn of the century, most drone strikes have been carried out by the US military in such countries as Afghanistan, Pakistan, Syria, Iraq, Somalia and Yemen using air-to-surface missiles, but drone warfare has increasingly been deployed by Russia, Ukraine, Turkey, Azerbaijan and by militant groups such as the Houthis. ''Empire'' is a British film magazine published monthly by Bauer Consumer Media. The first issue was published in May 1989. History David Hepworth of Emap, the publisher of British music magazines '' Q'' and ''Smash Hits'', among other titles, came up with the idea to publish a magazine similar to ''Q'', but for films. They recruited ''Smash Hits'' editor Barry McIlheney to edit the new magazine, with Hepworth as Editorial Director. Hepworth produced a one-page document of what he wanted to achieve. Among them, they planned to review and rate every film that was released in the cinema in the United Kingdom. It also said that "''Empire'' believes that movies can sometimes be art, but they should always be fun." Tonje Hessen Schei
Tonje Hessen Schei is a Norwegian film director, producer and screenwriter. She has directed the documentary film ''DRONE'' and ''Play Again'', and has directed and produced the films ''Independent Intervention'' and ''iHuman''. She produced ''Privacy of Wounds'' in 2018. Her film ''DRONE'' won the Norwegian Gullruten award, the Amanda award and the Golden Nymph Award. Hessen Schei studied social anthropology at NTNU before taking a bachelor's degree in film production at the University of Texas, in Austin, USA. She later majored in film production at NTNU (now: Master in Film and Video Production) at the Department of Arts and Media Studies. The Bergen International Film Festival (BIFF) is a film festival held annually in October in Bergen, Norway since 2000, and is the largest film festival in the nation in number of films. The festival celebrated its 20th edition in 2019, featuring more than 150 films in the program. The festival leader is Tor Fosse, and BIFF is owned by Bergen Cinema.
