Dressed To Kill (1928 Film)
''Dressed to Kill'' is a 1928 silent film drama produced and distributed by Fox Film Corporation and starring Mary Astor and Edmund Lowe. Astor was loaned from Warner Bros., for the film. Samuel L. Rothafel selected the film for the feature for the first anniversary of the New York City Roxy Theatre. Plot The gang of a mob boss grow suspicious of his new girlfriend. She's a beautiful young girl and they don't believe she would actually associate with the mob and wonder if she's really a police "plant". The mobsters dress nattily to not appear "out of place" in the ritzy neighborhoods prior to a heist. Irving Cummings
Irving Caminsky (October 9, 1888 – April 18, 1959) was an American movie actor and director. Career Born in New York City, Cummings started his acting career at age 16 in ''Diplomacy''. His Broadway, performances included ''In the Long Run'' (1909) and ''Object -- Matrimony'' (1916). Acting in the Proctor Stock Company, Cummings appeared with Lillian Russell and other actresses. He entered into movies in 1909, acting with the P. A. Powers company in Mount Vernon, New York, and quickly became a popular leading man. Few of the films he made as an actor are easily available, except for Buster Keaton's first feature film, ''The Saphead'' (1920), in which Cummings plays a crooked stockbroker and Fred Niblo's film Sex (1920), one of the first films to depict a new phenomenon in 1920s America, the Flapper. Charles Morton (actor)
Charles Morton (28 January 1908 in Illinois, USA – 26 October 1966 in North Hollywood, California) was an American actor. Career Born in Illinois, Charles Morton spent his adolescence in Madison, Wisconsin; receiving his education at Madison High School and the University of Wisconsin–Madison. He made his first stage appearance at the age of seven and later appeared in vaudeville, stock and the legitimate stage. Morton's career started late in the silent era, first as a leading man, continued into sound features and finally television. His polished physical appearance, charm and personality were noted by the studios and at the age of 19 signed his first contract with Fox in 1927. Audiences first discovered the handsome youth that same year opposite the studio's leading flapper, Madge Bellamy, in ''Colleen'', one of the era's many comedy-dramas.
