Double Wide (Uncle Kracker Album)
''Double Wide'' is the debut studio album by American recording artist Uncle Kracker. It was released on May 30, 2000, via Lava/ Atlantic Records. Recording sessions took place on the back of a tour bus parked in various motels and arena parking lots across the country. Production was mostly handled by Kid Rock with Michael Bradford. The music of the album is noted for its eclectic style, categorized by AllMusic as country, rock rap and rockabilly. Additionally, the album also incorporates elements of hip hop, rock and roll, blues rock and pop. The album reached top 10 in Germany, Austria and the United States. It was certified platinum by Music Canada on August 13, 2001, and 2× Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America on November 28, 2001. Uncle Kracker
Matthew Shafer (born June 6, 1974), also known by his stage name Uncle Kracker, is an American singer and musician. He was previously a turntablist for Kid Rock's backing group Twisted Brown Trucker and since 1999 has recorded as a solo artist. His singles " Follow Me" and "Drift Away" were top 10 hits on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100. Early life Shafer was born in Mount Clemens, Michigan, on June 6, 1974. With his brother Mike Shafer, he visited a nightclub in Clawson, Michigan, where a turntables competition was occurring. His older brother was competing against a then-unknown musician, Kid Rock. It was part of the Canoe.com online portal, formerly owned and operated by Quebecor through its Sun Media division, and now owned by Postmedia Network. The pedal steel guitar is a Console steel guitar, console-type of steel guitar with pedals and knee levers that change the pitch of certain strings to enable playing more varied and complex music than any previous steel guitar design. Like all steel guitars, it can play unlimited glissando, glissandi (sliding notes) and deep vibrato, vibrati—characteristics it shares with the human voice. Freddie Beauregard (born November 9, 1974), professionally known by his stage name Paradime, is an American rapper and producer from Detroit, Michigan. He is a Northwood University and Detroit Catholic Central alumni. Jimmie "Bones" Trombly
Jimmie Bones (born James Trombly) is the organ/piano/keyboard/harmonica player in Kid Rock's Twisted Brown Trucker Band. The two met while Kid Rock was recording " Early Mornin Stoned Pimp" at Detroit's White Room Studio in 1995. Rock asked Bones to do some piano tracks while Bones was working as a member of Robert Bradley's Blackwater Surprise in the adjacent room to Rock. Rock and Bradley also shared a rehearsal space and Bones would show up early for his rehearsal and sit in on the last bit of Rock's rehearsal. Rock suggested to Bones that he should do some live performances with him and the forming Twisted Brown Trucker Band when not touring with Bradley and Bones agreed, eventually becoming Rock's full-time keyboardist.
