The Double Action Ladies F.C. is a women's soccer club based in Gaborone, Botswana. The team competes in the Botswana Women's Championship, the top tier women's football league in Botswana. History Founded in 1995, the club finished as the runner-up in the Botswana Women's Championship before winning the next three editions. When the Botswana Women's Championship resumed in 2005, the club clinched nine consecutive titles before relinquishing its crown to Township Rollers in 2015. COSAFA Women's Champions League 2021 In 2021, the club represented Botswana in the inaugural edition of the COSAFA Women's Champions League, replacing Prisons XI after their withdrawal due to financial reasons. The Botswana Women's Championship is the highest level of league competition for women's football in Botswana. It is the women's equivalent of the men's Botswana Premier League. Starting with the 2021, the league champion will qualify for the COSAFA Women's Champions League. Gaborone ( , , ) is the capital and largest city of Botswana with a population of 246,325 based on the 2022 census, about 10% of the total population of Botswana. Mamelodi, part of the City of Tshwane Metropolitan Municipality, is a township set up by the then apartheid government northeast of Pretoria, Gauteng, South Africa. Etymology "Mamelodi" is the name derived from the Sepedi word with the prefix being "ma" meaning mother, and the suffix "melodi" meaning melodies. Its meaning can be translated to mean ''Mother of Melodies''. History The township was established when 16 houses were built on the farm Vlakfontein in June 1953 and later the name changed to Mamelodi.
