Donovan Woods (American Football)
Donovan Woods (born July 27, 1985) is a former American football linebacker in the National Football League (NFL) for the Pittsburgh Steelers, Dallas Cowboys and Buffalo Bills. He was signed by the Pittsburgh Steelers as an undrafted free agent in 2008. He played college football at Oklahoma State. Early years Woods attended Millwood High School. He initially played as a defensive back. He became the starting quarterback as a junior. He helped lead the school to 3 consecutive Class 2A state championships. As a senior, he registered 132-of-244 completions for 2,453 yards, 32 passing touchdowns, 6 interceptions, 119 carries for 1,081 yards and 15 rushing touchdowns. Linebacker
Linebacker (LB) is a playing position in gridiron football. Linebackers are members of the defensive team, and line up three to five yards behind the line of scrimmage and the defensive linemen. They are the "middle ground" of defenders, playing closer to the line of scrimmage than the defensive backs (secondary), but farther back than the defensive linemen. The 2008 NFL Draft was the 73rd annual meeting of National Football League (NFL) franchises to select newly eligible American football players. The draft took place at Radio City Music Hall in New York City, New York, on April 26 and April 27, 2008. For the 29th consecutive year, ESPN televised the draft; the NFL Network also broadcast the event, its third year doing so. Of the 252 selections, 220 were regular selections in rounds one through seven, and 32 were compensatory selections, distributed among rounds three through seven. 2007 Insight Bowl
The 2007 Insight Bowl, part of the 2007-08 NCAA football bowl games season, was played on December 31, 2007, at Sun Devil Stadium on the Arizona State University campus in Tempe, Arizona. The opponents were the Indiana Hoosiers of the Big Ten Conference and the Oklahoma State Cowboys of the Big 12 Conference. This was the third straight year of the Big 10 and Big 12 tie-ins for this bowl game. Both teams had tumultuous seasons. Safety is a position in gridiron football on the defense. The safeties are defensive backs who line up ten to fifteen yards from the line of scrimmage. There are two variations of the position: the free safety and the strong safety. Their duties depend on the defensive scheme. The defensive responsibilities of the safety and cornerback usually involve pass coverage towards the middle and sidelines of the field. Bobby Reid (born December 13, 1985) is a former American football quarterback. He played college football at Texas Southern University and Oklahoma State University. Reid played high school football at Galena Park North Shore High School in Houston, where he led his team to the Class 5A Division I Championship his senior year. He was named Houston Touchdown Club's Offensive Player of the Year, and was named the all-Greater Houston, all-district and the district's Most Valuable Player.
