Dongmaquan, Tianjin
Dongmaquan Town () is a town situated situated on the west edge of Wuqing District, Tianjin, China. It shares border with Beiwang Township and Chengguan Town to the north, Sicundian Town to the east, Douzhangzhuang Town to the south, and Luofa Town to the west. Its population was 15,850 in 2010. Its name Dongmaquan () refers to its historical function as a place for raising horses during the Liao Dynasty. People's Commune
The people's commune () was the highest of three administrative levels in rural areas of the People's Republic of China during the period from 1958 to 1983, until they were replaced by townships. Communes, the largest collective units, were divided in turn into production brigades and production teams. The communes had governmental, political, and economic functions during the Cultural Revolution. The people's commune was commonly known for collectivizing living and working practices, especially during the Great Leap Forward. The scale of the commune and its ability to extract income from the rural population enabled commune administrations to invest in large-scale mechanization, infrastructure, and industrial projects. Hebei
Hebei or , (; alternately Hopeh) is a northern province of China. Hebei is China's sixth most populous province, with over 75 million people. Shijiazhuang is the capital city. Douzhangzhuang Town () is a town situated at the west side of Wuqing District, Tianjin, China. It shares border with Dongmaquan and Sicundian Towns in its north, Dongpuwa and Huangzhuang Subdistricts in its east, Chenzui and Huanghuadian Towns in its south, and Luofa Town in its west. In 2010, the town had 23,421 residents within its boundaries. During the Ming Dynasty, the area was settled by a family with the surname Zhang, who specialized in the production of beans and vegetables. Sicundian Town () is a town in the western portion of Wuqing District, Tianjin, China. It borders Baigutun Town in its north, Damengzhuang and Nancaicun Towns in its east, Dongpuwa Subdistrict and Douzhangzhuang Town in its south, as well as Dongmaquan and Chengguan Towns in its west. In 2010, the town had a total population of 17,247. The name Sicundian () was taken from the Sishui County in Shandong, where the early settlers of the region originated.
