Dongli Railway Station
Dongli railway station () is a railway station located in Fuli Township, Hualien County, Taiwan. It is located on the Taitung line and is operated by Taiwan Railways. History The railway station was originally constructed in the southeast of the current station building when the line was not yet rerouted. After the line was rerouted, the new station building was constructed to be what is the current Dongli railway station today and the old station was named Old Dongli railway station (). The old station now serves as the southern end of the 9.8-km long Yufu Bikeway () taking place of the old section of the railway line before the rerouting works. On 18 September 2022, six coaches of the Tze-chiang limited express which was stopping at the station derailed cause by the 2022 Taitung earthquakes. Taiwan Railways Administration (TRA) is a railway operator in Taiwan. Taitung Line
The Taitung Line (), also known as the Hua-Tung line (), is the southern section of the Eastern Line of the Taiwan Railways Administration. The line starts at the Hualien station and ends at the Taitung station. It is 161.5 km long, including the main segment of 155.7 km between Hualien and Taitung. The coastal branch lines of Hualien and Taitung were discarded after the broadening plan in 1982. The broadcasts of the station names on Taitung line are made in five languages: Mandarin, Taiwanese Hokkien, Hakka, English, and Amis. Hualien () is a railway station in Hualien City, Hualien County, Taiwan served by Taiwan Railways Administration. 1 Island Platform
An island platform (also center platform, centre platform) is a station layout arrangement where a single platform is positioned between two tracks within a railway station, tram stop or transitway interchange. Island platforms are popular on twin-track routes due to pragmatic and cost reasons. They are also useful within larger stations where local and express services for the same direction of travel can be provided from opposite sides of the same platform thereby simplifying transfers between the two tracks. A side platform (also known as a marginal platform or a single-face platform) is a platform positioned to the side of one or more railway tracks or guideways at a railway station, tram stop, or transitway. A station having dual side platforms, one for each direction of travel, is the basic design used for double-track railway lines (as opposed to, for instance, the island platform where a single platform lies between the tracks). Tze-chiang Limited Express
The Tze-Chiang Express, also spelled "Tzu-chiang" or "Ziqiang" () is a type of express train service operated by the Taiwan Railways Administration (TRA) in Taiwan. Of the five service classes operated by the TRA, the Tze-Chiang trains is the fastest category. Ticketing is done on the basis of mileage (NT$2.27 per km with a 10 km minimum fee). This service is operated with 7 different trainsets: the E1000 series, the EMU1200 (electric multiple unit), EMU300, TEMU1000 (''Taroko Express''), DR2800 (diesel multiple unit), DR3100, and the TEMU2000 (''Puyuma Express''). 2022 Taitung Earthquakes
The 2022 Taitung earthquakes were a series of two earthquakes affecting Taitung and Hualien Counties, Taiwan. The first earthquake struck Taitung on September 17, 2022, occurring with a magnitude of 6.5 , causing minor damage and some injuries. The second earthquake occurred roughly a day after the first tremor struck the same area, with a stronger magnitude of 6.9 . The earthquakes reached a maximum intensity of VII (''Very strong'') and IX (''Violent'') respectively on the Modified Mercalli Intensity Scale. Dongli Story House
The Dongli Story House () is a rice mill in Fuli Township, Hualien County, Taiwan. History The building is a rice mill which was originally established in 1899 named Dongli Rice Factory. In the 1950s, the factory moved to its current bigger location due to the increase in rice production. In the 1970s, the factory began to produce organic rice due to the trend at that time. Later on, the Dongli Story House was established at the premise to preserve the historical artifacts of rice cultivation from the earlier times.
