Donald J. Lee
Donald John Lee (July 24, 1927 – March 17, 2011) was a United States district judge of the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania. Education and career Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Lee was in the United States Navy in the aftermath of World War II, from 1945 to 1947. He received an Artium Baccalaureus degree from the University of Pittsburgh in 1950 and a Bachelor of Laws from Duquesne University School of Law in 1954. He was in private practice in Pittsburgh from 1954 to 1956. He was a law clerk for Judge Rabe Marsh of the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania from 1957 to 1958. He was in private practice in Pittsburgh from 1958 to 1984. He was a councilman of the Borough of Green Tree, Pennsylvania from 1961 to 1963. Senior Status
Senior status is a form of semi-retirement for United States federal judges. To qualify, a judge in the Federal judiciary of the United States, federal court system must be at least 65 years old, and the sum of the judge's age and years of service as a federal judge must be at least 80 years. As long as senior judges carry at least a 25 percent caseload or meet other criteria for activity, they remain entitled to maintain a staffed office and chambers, including a secretary and their normal complement of law clerks, and they continue to receive annual cost-of-living increases. Senior judges vacate their seats on the bench, and the President of the United States, president may appoint new full-time judges to fill those seats. Some U.S. states have similar systems for senior judges. Rabe Marsh
Rabe Ferguson Marsh Jr. (April 26, 1905 – April 19, 1993) was a United States district judge of the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania. Education and career Born in Greensburg, Pennsylvania, Marsh received an Artium Baccalaureus degree from Lafayette College in 1927 and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law in 1930. He was in private practice in Greensburg from 1930 to 1950. He was an assistant district attorney of Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania from 1942 to 1950. Allegheny County () is a county in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. It is located in Southwestern Pennsylvania.
