Don Nelson
Donald Arvid Nelson (born May 15, 1940) is an American former professional basketball player and head coach. Nelson is second all-time in regular season wins of any coach in NBA history, with 1,335 (he held the record for most wins for almost 12 years). He coached the Milwaukee Bucks, the New York Knicks, the Dallas Mavericks, and the Golden State Warriors. After an All-American career at the University of Iowa, Nelson won five NBA championships playing with the Boston Celtics, with his number 19 retired by the franchise in 1978. His unique brand of basketball is often referred to as "Nellie Ball". A coaching innovator, Nelson is credited with, among other things, pioneering the concept of the point forward, a tactic which is frequently employed by teams at every level today. Don Nelson (January 20, 1927 – September 10, 2013) was an American screenwriter, film producer and jazz musician. He is best known for his work on the American situation comedy ''The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet'', for which he wrote from 1952 to 1966. The series starred his elder brother Ozzie Nelson, his sister-in-law Harriet Nelson and his nephews David Nelson (actor), David Nelson and Ricky Nelson. Nelson was born in Hackensack, New Jersey, Hackensack, New Jersey, and raised in Tenafly, New Jersey, Tenafly, New Jersey. Nelson worked for several famous entertainment businesses, including Universal Studios and Fox Studios; he also co-wrote four films for Disney Studios and wrote for the 1968–1970 CBS situation comedy ''The Good Guys (1968 TV series), The Good Guys'', starring Bob Denver, Herb Edelman, and Joyce Van Patten. Donn Charles Nelson (born September 10, 1962) is an American basketball executive who previously held general manager and president of basketball operations roles for the Dallas Mavericks of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He is the son of Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, Hall of Fame basketball coach Don Nelson, who has the second most wins of any coach in NBA history at 1,335. In a 2007 ''Sports Illustrated'' article ranking the NBA's personnel bosses from 1 to 30, Nelson was ranked No. 2. Dan Nelson (born June 21, 1976) is an American singer-songwriter, guitarist and bassist from New York City. A solo artist, he is currently the singer, songwriter and guitarist for the band Dan Nelson and The Contention. Music career In the past, Nelson has worked with the Long Island bands Wolfpack Black, Inside Hollow, Discipline, and Devilsize. Donald Nelson
Donald Marr Nelson (1888–1959) was an American business executive and public servant, serving as the executive vice president of Sears Roebuck before accepting the position of director of priorities of the United States Office of Production Management (1941–1942). In 1942 Nelson became chairman of the War Production Board (1942–1944) when it replaced the OPM. He later served for two years (1945–1947) as president of the Society of Independent Motion Picture Producers. Life and career Nelson was born in Hannibal, Missouri, the son of a locomotive engineer. He went to the University of Missouri, graduating in 1911 with a degree in chemical engineering. In 1912 he took a job as a chemist with Sears, Roebuck and Company.
