Don Davis (Gaelic Footballer)
Don Davis (born 13 March 1969) is an Irish former Gaelic footballer who played as a full-forward for the Cork senior team. Born in Skibbereen, County Cork, Davis first played competitive Gaelic football whilst at school at St Fachtna's De La Salle Secondary School. He arrived on the inter-county scene at the age of seventeen when he first linked up with the Cork minor team, before later lining out with the under-21 side. He made his senior debut in the 1993 championship. Davis went on to play a key role for the team over the next seven years, winning four Munster medals and one National Football League medal. He was an All-Ireland runner-up on two occasions. Davis was a member of the Munster inter-provincial team on one occasion, however, he ended his career without a Railway Cup medal. Munster Minor Football Championship
The Munster Minor Football Championship is an annual Gaelic football competition organised by the Munster Council of the Gaelic Athletic Association since 1928 for the youngest competitors (under-18) in the province of Munster in Ireland. It is currently sponsored by Electric Ireland and therefore officially known as the Electric Ireland Munster GAA Football Minor Championship. The series of games are played during the summer months with the Munster final currently being played on the second Sunday in July. The minor final provides the curtain-raiser to the senior final. The winning team is presented with the Tadhg Crowley Cup. Brian Cuthbert
Brian Cuthbert (born 1975) is an Irish former Gaelic footballer. Born in Bishopstown, Cork, Cuthbert first arrived on the inter-county scene at the age of seventeen when he first linked up with the Cork minor team, before later lining out with the under-21 side. Although he never played in the senior grade, Cuthbert won an All-Ireland medal as captain of the minor team in 1993. At club level Cuthbert is a two-time championship medallist in the intermediate grade with Bishopstown as a hurler. In retirement from playing Cuthbert became involved in team management and coaching. He began his career with various Cork development squads and the Cork Institute of Technology freshers team, before two years as manager of the Cork minor football team. He served as a senior selector under Conor Counihan while he also is heavily involved in coaching with the Bishopstown club side. 2000 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship
The 2000 Bank of Ireland All-Ireland Senior Football Championship was the 114th edition of the GAA's premier Gaelic football competition. The championship began on 7 May 2000 and ended on 7 October 2000. Meath entered the championship as the defending champions; however, they were beaten by Offaly in the Leinster quarter-final. On 24 September 2000, the All-Ireland final between Kerry and Galway ended in a draw, 0-14 apiece. Kerry won the replay two weeks later by 0–17 to 1-10, thus claiming their 32nd All-Ireland title. This was the final year that the provincial knockout format was used, before the qualifier system was introduced in 2001.
