Don't You Think It's Time
"Don't You Think It's Time?" is the first single to be taken from Bob Evans' (aka Kevin Mitchell from Jebediah) second album ''Suburban Songbook''. The single was released 13 May 2006 and reached #22 on the ARIA Singles Chart. It also reached #37 on Triple J's Hottest 100 for 2006. The album was produced by Nashville-based Brad Jones (Josh Rouse, Yo La Tengo, Sheryl Crow, Jill Sobule) at the 'Alex the Great Studios' in Nashville and features Ken Coomer (ex- Wilco) on drums. The single features two extra tracks not available elsewhere - Kevin Mitchell solo and one recorded at his home on a 4 track. Evans wrote the song after a day spent hosting Channel V as Regurgitator recorded their album Mish Mash! as a Band in a Bubble. Evans wrote the music and added lyrics later. Kevin Mitchell (musician)
Kevin Edward Mitchell (born 1 October 1977), also known by the stage name of Bob Evans, is an Australian singer-songwriter; Mitchell uses the name for his primary solo project. He is also the founding lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist of the alternative rock band Jebediah, which was formed in 1994 and features his older brother Brett Mitchell, who joined on drums before the group's first performance. Jebediah released five studio albums between 1997 and 2011, the first three of which entered the top ten on the ARIA Charts, ARIA Albums Chart. Mitchell commenced performing as a folk pop artist under the name "Bob Evans" in 1999 to showcase "quieter" songs that were influenced by music that was different from the primary sound of Jebediah, and he deliberately chose a stage name that would distinguish him from his band. Yo La Tengo (YLT; Spanish for "I have her") is an American indie rock band formed in Hoboken, New Jersey, in 1984. ''Band in a Bubble'' is a TV show that consisted of round-the-clock live broadcasting, during which a band spent an extended period of time inside a "bubble," writing and recording an album. The ''Band in a Bubble'' concept was created by Paul Curtis, a band manager, tour promoter, owner of Valve Records, and visual artist based in Australia. The concept was developed in conjunction with Australian rock band Regurgitator and XYZ Networks. ''Mish Mash!'' is the fifth studio album from Australian rock band, Regurgitator. ''Mish Mash!'' was released on 15 November 2004 and peaked at number 52 on the ARIA Charts. The band's drummer, Peter Kostic, told The Age the band had wanted to dig deep to find the inspiration for the album saying; "It was really positive. It enabled us to block out everything else that was happening and focus on recording. We worked really quickly as a result. I don't think this would have been as good a record had we not done this." Regurgitator are an Australian rock band from Brisbane, Queensland, formed in late 1993 by Quan Yeomans on lead vocals, guitar and keyboards; Ben Ely on bass guitar, keyboards and vocals; and Martin Lee on drums. Wilco
Wilco is an American alternative rock band based in Chicago, Illinois. The band was formed in 1994 by the remaining members of alternative country group Uncle Tupelo following singer Jay Farrar's departure. ''Suburban Songbook'' is the second studio album by Australian singer-songwriter Kevin Mitchell, under the pseudonym Bob Evans, vocalist and guitarist for Perth band Jebediah. It was produced by Brad Jones (Josh Rouse, Yo La Tengo, Sheryl Crow, Jill Sobule) at the 'Alex the Great Studios' in Nashville, Tennessee.
