"Don't Walk Away" is a song by American singer Pat Benatar, which was released in 1988 as the second single from her seventh studio album ''Wide Awake in Dreamland''. The song was written by Nick Gilder and Duane Hitchings, and produced by Peter Coleman and Neil Giraldo. Background It was Chrysalis' decision to release "Don't Walk Away" as a single from ''Wide Awake in Dreamland''. Benatar told Todd Everett of the King Features Syndicate, "'Don't Walk Away' is so typical of what they'd choose to release." Music video The song's music video was directed by Jim Yukich and produced by Paul Flattery. It achieved medium rotation on MTV. ''RPM'' ( and later ) was a Canadian music-industry publication that featured song and album charts for Canada. The publication was founded by Walt Grealis in February 1964, supported through its existence by record label owner Stan Klees. ''RPM'' ceased publication in November 2000. George Marino (April 15, 1947 – June 4, 2012) was an American mastering engineer known for working on albums by rock bands starting in the late 1960s. Biography Marino was born on April 15, 1947, in the New York City borough The Bronx. He attended Christopher Columbus High School there and learned to play the saxophone and bass fiddle in the high school band and was classically trained on guitar. Marino broke into the music business as a guitarist playing rock and roll in local New York City bands such as The Chancellors and The New Sounds Ltd. until most of the band members were drafted into the service for the war in Vietnam. After a string of successful albums, this was her last rock-oriented album of the 1980s, before she would go on to try a blues-based sound with ''True Love (Pat Benatar album), True Love'' in 1991.
