''Don't Move Here: Inside Portland's Music Scene'' is an American documentary series about Portland, Oregon's music scene, that relatively recently has become a hot spot for indie bands. The series was created by director and curator Aaron Rose and produced by Wieden+Kennedy Entertainment. The series features interviews with Portland-based artists, musicians and record label producers, as well as concert footage taken at various underground and less known music venues. Bands, labels and studios profiled so far include Yacht, Grouper, Honey Owens, Jackie-O Motherfucker Mississippi Studios, Rev. Shines, Libretto, Marriage Records, Rob Walmart, States Rights Records, Type Foundry, Jackpot Studios, Explode Into Colors, White Fang, Mississippi Records and Portland Mayor Sam Adams. Tom McCall
Thomas Lawson McCall (March 22, 1913 January 8, 1983) was an American statesman, politician and journalist in the state of Oregon. A Republican, he was the state's thirtieth governor from 1967 to 1975. A native of Massachusetts, McCall grew up there and in central Oregon and attended the University of Oregon in Eugene. After college, he worked as a journalist, including time at ''The Oregonian'' in Portland during Later he worked in radio and then in television as a newscaster and political commentator. He made an unsuccessful bid for Congress in 1954, losing in the general election to Edith Green. Portland, Oregon is divided into six sections: North Portland, Northeast Portland, Northwest Portland, South Portland, Southeast Portland, and Southwest Portland. There are 95 officially recognized neighborhoods, each of which is represented by a volunteer-based neighborhood association. No neighborhood associations overlap the Willamette River, but a few overlap the addressing sextants. PDX Pop Now!
PDX Pop Now! is a local annual music festival held in Portland, Oregon, and a 100% volunteer-run registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that organizes and promotes the festival event. It consists of a two-disc compilation released in spring; a multi-day, free, all-ages music festival in the summer; and school and community outreach programs throughout the year. The organization and the event are dedicated to "celebrating, promoting, and enhancing Portland’s vital and diverse music community."
