Don't Lose Any Sleep
"Don't Lose Any Sleep" is a song by English musician John Waite, which was released in 1987 as the second and final single from his fourth studio album '' Rover's Return''. The song was written by Diane Warren, and produced by Frank Filipetti, Rick Nowels and Waite. "Don't Lose Any Sleep" peaked at No. 81 on the US ''Billboard'' Hot 100 and remained in the charts for four weeks. The song's music video was directed by Kort Falkenberg, who also directed the video for Waite's 1984 hit "Missing You". It was shot on location in Los Angeles, as well as at the Chaplin Stage at A&M Studios. The video achieved breakout rotation on MTV. Critical reception On its release, ''Billboard'' described the song as a "churning midtempo ballad" and a "strong chart contender" that recalled "Missing You". John Charles Waite (born 4 July 1952) is an English musician. As a solo artist, he has released ten studio albums and is best known for the 1984 hit single " Missing You", which reached No. 1 on the US ''Billboard'' Hot 100 and the top ten on the UK Singles Chart. He was also the lead vocalist for the successful rock bands The Babys and Bad English. Career Waite was born in Lancaster, Lancashire, and was educated at Greaves Secondary Modern and Lancaster Art College (The Storey Institute). As a performer, Waite first came to attention as the lead singer and bassist of The Babys, a British rock band that had moderate chart success. The band achieved two pop hits that both coincidentally peaked at No. 13 on the Billboard Hot 100, " Isn't It Time" (1977) and "Everytime I Think of You" (1979), and a solid following of their concert tours. Robin Beck is an American singer. She topped the singles chart in the United Kingdom in 1988, and Austria, Germany, Norway, Netherlands and Switzerland in 1989, with her single " First Time", which had come to the public's attention via its use in a Coca-Cola commercial. Other well-known songs of hers are "Save Up All Your Tears", "In My Heart to Stay", "Tears in the Rain" and "Close to You". ''Greatest Hits (Ten Years and Change 1979–1991)'' is a compilation album released in 1991 when Starship ended its recording contract with RCA Records. The album contains two new tracks, "Don't Lose Any Sleep" and "Good Heart". "Good Heart" was released as a single and hit number 81 on the ''Billboard'' charts. A third track, "Keys to the City" was recorded at this time and finally saw release on the 2012 compilation ''Playlist: The Very Best of Starship''. Starship (band)
Starship is an American rock band from San Francisco, California. Initially a continuation of Jefferson Starship, it underwent a change in musical direction, the subsequent loss of personnel, and a lawsuit settlement that led to a name change. Starship's 1985 album, '' Knee Deep in the Hoopla'', was certified platinum by the RIAA, and included two singles that went to number one on the US ''Billboard'' Hot 100 chart: " We Built This City" and "Sara". Their follow up album, '' No Protection'', released in 1987, was certified gold and featured the band's third number one single, "Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now". After a short hiatus in the early 1990s, the band reformed in 1992 as "Starship featuring Mickey Thomas" and resumed touring. Jim Jidhed (born February 23, 1963), sometimes known as Jim Willy Jidhed, is a Swedish rock singer. Jidhed's first major break was as the lead singer for the rock band Alien in the late 1980s with the ballad "Only One Woman". After that he released his first solo album called ''Jim'', which included the cover songs "Wild Young And Free", " Silence is Golden", "Don't Lose Any Sleep" and "Love Hurts". Jidhed participated in Melodifestivalen in 1991 with "Kommer du ihåg mig?", finishing 3rd, and in 1997 where he performed "Charlie", finishing 10th. In 2003, Jidhed released an album entitled ''Full Circle''. In 2007 he released " Reflektioner", his first Swedish language album in 16 years.
