''Don't Look Any Further'' is the debut solo album by American R&B singer Dennis Edwards, former lead singer of the Temptations. The album was released in 1984 through Gordy Records. Background Edwards first made a solo recording in 1977, but had nothing to show for it but an unreleased album. He returned for the sessions of The Temptations' album ''Back to Basics'', but then again left in the middle of the sessions. Commercial performance The album reached No. 2 on the R&B charts. Dennis Edwards Jr. (February 3, 1943 – February 1, 2018) was an American soul and R&B singer who was best known as the frontman in The Temptations for Motown Records. Edwards joined the Temptations in 1968, replacing David Ruffin and sang with the group from 1968 to 1976, 1980 to 1984, and 1987 to 1989. In the mid-1980s, he launched a solo career, recording the 1984 hit single " Don't Look Any Further" (featuring Siedah Garrett). Dennis Earle Lambert (born May 18, 1947 in Brooklyn, New York) is an American musician, songwriter and record producer. Career Lambert began his music career in 1960 when he signed to Capitol Records as a recording artist. By the mid-1960s, he was writing and producing for other artists. Among his earliest work with his first main collaborator Lou Courtney were songs for Freddie & the Dreamers, Lorraine Ellison, Jerry Butler and Jerry Lee Lewis.
