Griselda Records
Griselda Records is an American hip hop independent record label based in Buffalo, New York. It was founded by rapper Westside Gunn, his brother Conway the Machine, and Mach-Hommy in 2012. In addition to the founding members, Benny the Butcher and in-house producer Daringer make up the flagship artists of the Griselda Records roster. The Griselda namesake also refers to a loose-knit hip hop collective composed of the core signees of the label. The collective's ''de facto'' leader is the label’s founder Westside Gunn. To date, Griselda has two releases as a collective: the extended play ''Don't Get Scared Now'' in 2016 and debut album '' WWCD'' in 2019. The record label draws its name from notorious drug lord Griselda Blanco. Westside Gunn
Alvin Lamar Worthy (born July 27, 1982), known professionally as Westside Gunn, is an American rapper. He is a co-founder of independent hip-hop label Griselda Records. He is the brother of rapper Conway The Machine and cousin of rapper Benny the Butcher, both of whom he frequently collaborates with. Westside Gunn has released four studio albums in addition to an extensive catalog of mixtapes. Gunn was affiliated with Shady Records from 2017 to 2020, but has since returned to independent status. Career Westside Gunn released his first mixtape in 2005, however his career was derailed by run-ins with the law. Gunn did not release any music in the years 2006-2011. ''WWCD'' (an acronym for ''What Would Chine Gun Do'') is the debut studio album by American hip hop group Griselda. It was released on November 29, 2019, by Griselda, Shady, and Interscope. Background The album is entirely produced by Daringer and Beat Butcha, and features guest appearances from 50 Cent, Eminem, Raekwon, Keisha Plum, Novel, and Tiona Deniece. ''WWCD'' was titled in-part after late-rapper Machine Gun Black, the half-brother of group member Benny the Butcher, and cousin of Conway the Machine. Its lead single, "Dr. Bird's", was released on October 18, 2019. The second single, "Chef Dreds", was released on November 8, 2019. Upon release, ''WWCD'' debuted at number eight on the ''Billboard'' Rap Albums and number nine on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums charts. It also received positive critical reception. Demond Price (born February 16, 1982), known professionally as Conway the Machine (or simply Conway), is an American rapper. Alongside his paternal half-brother Westside Gunn and cousin Benny the Butcher, Conway was a member of Griselda Records. On February 21, 2022, Conway announced his departure from Griselda Records. Mach-Hommy
Mach-Hommy is a Haitian-American rapper. He is well-known for his reclusive nature, concealing his real name and face in all public appearances. This behavior has led him to be described as "one of hip-hop's most elusive artists". Though he predominantly raps in English, he also frequently incorporates Haitian Creole into his lyrics. Early life Mach-Hommy was raised predominantly in Newark, New Jersey, but also spent much of his childhood in Port-au-Prince. His father was a folk guitarist, and Mach credits his father's musical style as an influence on his own.
