Domvile Baronets (1815 Creation)
The Domvile Baronetcy, of Templeogue and Santry House in the County of Dublin, was created in the Baronetage of the United Kingdom on 22 May 1815 for Compton Domvile, subsequently Member of Parliament for Bossiney, Okehampton and Plympton Erle. He was the son of Charles Pocklington, nephew and heir of the second and last Domvile baronet of the 1686 creation. Charles Pocklington had assumed by royal licence the surname of Domvile in lieu of Pocklington in 1768 on succeeding to the estates of his uncle. Templeogue
Templeogue () is a southwestern suburb of Dublin in Ireland. It lies between the River Poddle and River Dodder, and is about halfway from Dublin's centre to the mountains to the south. Geography Location The centre of Templeogue is from both the city centre to the north and the Dublin Mountains to the south, and to the coast at Dublin Bay on the Irish Sea. It is above sea level and occupies an area of 534 hectares. The Domvile Baronetcy, of Templeogue in the County of Dublin, was created in the Baronetage of Ireland on 21 December 1686 for Thomas Domvile, who represented Mullingar in the Irish House of Commons. He was the son of William Domville (Attorney-General for Ireland), son of Gilbert Domville, MP for Dublin, member of an ancient Cheshire family. The second Baronet was a member of the Irish Parliament for County Dublin. The title became extinct on his death in 1768. Sir William Domvile, brother of the first Baronet, represented Armagh and Dublin in the Irish Parliament. Hutcheson Poë
Sir William Hutcheson Poë, 1st Baronet (20 September 1848 – 30 November 1934) was an Irish soldier and politician. Biography He was born the younger son of William T. Poë in Donaghadee, County Down. He joined the Royal Marines in 1867 and served in the Sudan in 1884, commanding a unit of the Camel Corps in the Relief of Khartoum in 1885. He retired in 1888. He was a Justice of the Peace and Deputy Lieutenant for Queen's County and was appointed High Sheriff of Queen's County for 1891 and High Sheriff of Tyrone for 1893. He lived at Heywood House, Ballinakill. He was a member of the Land Conference in 1902. He was created a baronet on 2 July 1912. Santry
Santry () is a suburb on the northside of Dublin, Ireland, bordering Coolock, Glasnevin, Kilmore and Ballymun. It straddles the boundary of Dublin City Council and Fingal County Council jurisdictions. The character of the area has changed in the last 100 years, from a district centred on a large estate, and later a small village, to a modern, rather dispersed, mixed-use suburb.
