Domingo Germán's Perfect Game
On June 28, 2023, Dominican professional baseball pitcher Domingo Germán of the New York Yankees threw the 24th perfect game in Major League Baseball history, and the fourth in Yankees franchise history. Germán pitched it during an 11–0 win against the Oakland Athletics at the Oakland Coliseum in Oakland, California. With Germán's perfect game, the Yankees became the first MLB franchise with four perfect games pitched. Oakland Coliseum joined the original Yankee Stadium as the only venues to host three perfect games. The game's color commentary for the Athletics' broadcast was done by former Athletics pitcher Dallas Braden, who threw a perfect game himself in 2010. Domingo Germán Polanco (; born August 4, 1992) is a Dominican professional baseball pitcher for the New York Yankees of Major League Baseball (MLB). Germán was signed by the Florida Marlins as an international free agent in 2009. He made his MLB debut in 2017 with the Yankees. Perfect Game (baseball)
In baseball, a perfect game is a game in which one or more pitchers complete a minimum of nine innings with no batter from the opposing team reaching any base. To achieve a perfect game, a team must not allow any opposing player to reach base by any means: no hits, walks, hit batsmen, uncaught third strikes, catcher's or fielder's interference, or fielding errors; in short, "27 up, 27 down" (for a nine-inning game). Suzyn Waldman (born ) is an American sportscaster and former musical theater actress. Since the 2005 season, she has been the color commentator for New York Yankees baseball, working with John Sterling on radio broadcasts, first for WCBS-AM and currently for WFAN in New York City. Early life and career Waldman was born in Newton, Massachusetts, the daughter of Jeanne and Philip Waldman. Since April 2024, he is the primary Radio Announcer for the New York Yankees of Major League Baseball. Early life Shackil is from Wayne, New Jersey. WADO (1280 AM) is a commercial radio station licensed to New York City. It is owned and operated by Uforia Audio Network, a subsidiary of Univision. It broadcasts a Spanish-language sports radio format. By day, WADO is powered at 50,000 watts, the maximum permitted for American AM stations.
