Dom Aleixo Administrative Post
Dom Aleixo, officially Dom Aleixo Administrative Post (, ), is an administrative post in Dili municipality, East Timor, at the mouth of Comoro River. Its seat or administrative centre is Comoro. The administrative post is named after Aleixo Corte-Real. Its population at the 2010 census was 105,154. Its area is 33,12 km2. Fatuhada (formerly: ''Beira Mar'') is a Suco ("village") in East Timor under the Administrative Post Dom Aleixo Administrative Post in Dili Municipality, within the capital city Dili. Geography Fatuhada lies on the banks of the Bay of Dili, to the West of the city centre of Dili, in the Northeast part of Dom Aleixo. It is surrounded by the Suco Kampung Alor to the East, Bairro Pite to the South, Comoro to the Southwest, and Bebonuk to the West. Fatuhada has an area of 1.24 square kilometres. Tasitolu
Tasitolu ( pt, Tasitolu, tet, Tasitolu or , ) is a protected area on the coast of East Timor, west of the capital Dili. The Tasitolu wetlands include three saline lakes, an esplanade, and a beach; it has been designated a Wetland of National Significance. Tasitolu Peace Park was designated in 2002 because of its cultural and historical importance. The Tasitolu Important Bird Area accommodates several near-threatened species. A 2004 reforestation project, which included community member participation, was funded by the national government. Subsequent to the 2006 East Timorese crisis, several hundred people sought refuge at Tasitolu's tent camp, established by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees. Presidente Nicolau Lobato International Airport
Dili Airport , officially Presidente Nicolau Lobato International Airport ( pt, Aeroporto Internacional Presidente Nicolau Lobato, ), and formerly Comoro Airport ( id, Bandar Udara Komoro), is an international airport serving Dili, the capital city of East Timor. Since 2002, the airport has been named after Nicolau dos Reis Lobato (1946–1978), an East Timorese politician and national hero. Aleixo Corte-Real
Aleixo Corte-Real (1886 – May 1943), better known under the name of Dom Aleixo, was a noble Timorese chieftain (''régulo'') and a Portuguese hero during World War II. Biography Dom Aleixo was born in Soro, Ainaro, Portuguese Timor. His birth name was Nai-Sesu. Corte-Real was the cousin of Nai-Cau, during the rebellion of Manufahi stood on the side of Portugal. Here Aleixo already fought 1911-1912 on the part of the Portuguese against Boaventura, the Liurai of Manufahi. Dom Aleixo become the Liurai of Ainaro after 1912. Comoro River
The Comoro River ( pt, Ribeira de Comoro or , tet, Mota Komoro) is a river in East Timor. It flows north into Ombai Strait, reaching the coast in the north western suburbs of the capital, Dili. In its lower reaches, it is the main and largest of Dili's four major rivers. Course The headwaters of the river are in East Timor's central mountains south of Dili. From there, the river flows northeast to the southern edge of Dili's southwestern suburbs. It then turns north and heads through Dili's western suburbs, initially along the border between the municipalities of Dili and Liquiçá, and then by traversing the Dom Aleixo administrative post in Dili municipality, where it passes under the Hinode Bridge and, further downstream, the CPLP Bridge.
