Dolmar is a former ''Verwaltungsgemeinschaft'' ("collective municipality") in the district Schmalkalden-Meiningen, in Thuringia, Germany. The seat of the ''Verwaltungsgemeinschaft'' was in Schwarza. It was disbanded on 1 January 2012. Municipal associations (german: Verwaltungsgemeinschaften) are statutory corporations or public bodies created by statute in the German federal states of Bavaria, Saxony, Thuringia, and Schleswig-Holstein. In Baden-Württemberg the term ''stipulated municipal association'' (german: vereinbarte Verwaltungsgemeinschaft) is used. Structure A municipal association normally consists of several adjacent municipalities located in the same district. It is controlled by a political representative, chairperson or executive board. Schmalkalden-Meiningen
Schmalkalden-Meiningen is a ''Landkreis'' in the southwest of Thuringia, Germany. Its neighboring districts are (from the northwest clockwise) the districts Wartburgkreis, Gotha, Ilm-Kreis, the district-free city Suhl, the district Hildburghausen, the Bavarian district Rhön-Grabfeld, and the district Fulda in Hesse. History The district is located mainly on the territory of the former duchy of Saxe-Meiningen (part Meiningen district) and the former dominion of Schmalkalden. The district as a unit originated in 1994 with the merging of the previous districts Meiningen, Schmalkalden and (partially) Suhl-Land, which were formed during the time in the GDR. Rohr, Thuringia
Rohr is a municipality in the Schmalkalden-Meiningen district in Thuringia. History Rohr was first mentioned in 815. A Benedictine monastery was established in the 9th century and a Carolingian church, St. Michaels, was built. The monastery lasted for about 100 years but the church survives today. In 1206 a Benedictine convent was established outside of town. The convent was closely associated with the House of Henneberg and to a lesser degree with the Bibra family The House of Bibra () was one of the leading ''Uradel'' (ancient noble) families in Franconia (northern part of Bavaria) and present day Thuringia from the mid-15th century to about 1600.
