Doctor Who Specials (2022)
The 2022 specials of the British science fiction television programme ''Doctor Who'' are three additional episodes that follow the programme's thirteenth series, and were first announced in July 2021. The first special aired on 1 January 2022, with the additional specials airing on 17 April and 23 October. They are the final episodes to feature Jodie Whittaker as the Thirteenth Doctor and Chris Chibnall as showrunner. The specials also star Mandip Gill and John Bishop as the Doctor's travelling companions, Yasmin Khan and Dan Lewis, respectively, with "The Power of the Doctor" featuring the return of Sacha Dhawan as the Master and the debut of David Tennant (who previously portrayed the Tenth Doctor) as the Fourteenth Doctor, who would star in the following 2023 specials. The three specials were directed by Annetta Laufer, Haolu Wang and Jamie Magnus Stone respectively. Chris Chibnall
Christopher Antony Chibnall (born 21 March 1970) is an English television writer and producer, best known as the creator and writer of the award-winning ITV mystery-crime drama ''Broadchurch'' and as a showrunner of the long-running BBC sci-fi series ''Doctor Who''. Chibnall wrote five episodes of the series under previous showrunners Russell T Davies and Steven Moffat, and was also the head writer for the first two series of the spinoff ''Torchwood''. Early life and career Chibnall was brought up in Formby, Sefton, Merseyside. He studied drama at St Mary's University, Twickenham, subsequently gaining an MA in Theatre and Film from the University of Sheffield. "The Power of the Doctor" is the third and final of the 2022 specials of the British science fiction television programme ''Doctor Who'', and was broadcast on BBC One on 23 October 2022. The episode was ordered for the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the launch of the BBC, airing five days after. It was written by Chris Chibnall, and directed by Jamie Magnus Stone. Jodie Whittaker stars in her final regular appearance as the Thirteenth Doctor, alongside Mandip Gill and John Bishop as her companions Yasmin Khan and Dan Lewis, respectively. The Doctor is the title character in the long-running BBC science fiction television programme '' Doctor Who''. Ella Road
Ella Road (née Waldman, born 1991) is a British screenwriter, playwright and actor. She is best known for her stage-play '' The Phlebotomist''. Career Road grew up in Archway and attended Dame Alice Owen's School, a state school in Potters Bar. She studied English at Somerville College, Oxford, and then earned a postgraduate degree in acting from Oxford School of Drama. Jamie Magnus Stone
Jamie Magnus Stone (born 15 December 1985) is a Scottish film director and animator, who studied at the National Film and Television School. He is the son of Sally Magnusson and grandson of Magnus Magnusson and Mamie Baird.
