Do Or Die (Dropkick Murphys Album)
''Do or Die'' is the first studio album released by Boston's Irish-American punk band, Dropkick Murphys. It was released in 1998. A music video for the single "Barroom Hero" was released. This is the only album that featured original lead vocalist Mike McColgan, who went on to become a fireman before forming his own band, the Street Dogs. Reception Allmusic gave ''Do or Die'' a rating of three stars out of five, and said that the album was "an interesting blend of hardcore-style punk with traditional Irish inflections." Dropkick Murphys
Dropkick Murphys are an American Celtic punk band formed in Quincy, Massachusetts in 1996. Singer and bassist Ken Casey has been the band's only constant member. Other current members include drummer Matt Kelly (1997– ), singer Al Barr (1998– ), guitarist James Lynch (2000– ), multi-instrumentalist Tim Brennan (2003– ) and multi-instrumentalist Jeff DaRosa (2007– ). The band was initially signed to independent punk record label Hellcat Records, releasing five albums for the label, and building a reputation locally through constant touring and yearly St. Patrick's Day week shows, held in and around Boston. The 2004 single, "Tessie" became the band's first mainstream hit and one of their biggest charting singles to date. ''Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles'' (sometimes abbreviated as ''Terminator: TSCC'' or simply ''TSCC'') is an American science fiction television series that aired on Fox from January 13, 2008 to April 10, 2009. Drum
The drum is a member of the percussion group of musical instruments. In the Hornbostel-Sachs classification system, it is a membranophone. Matt Kelly (drummer)
Matt Kelly is an American musician from Leominster, Massachusetts. He has been the drummer for the Boston Celtic punk group Dropkick Murphys since May 1997. Kelly also sings background vocals for the band and has not missed playing a show with the band for 22 years as of 2019. Gear Matt's Kelly's drum kit consists of an 8x12 rack, a 14x14, 16x16 floors, and a 20x22 kick. He mostly uses a 6.5x14 snare. His kit is emerald green acrylic, with custom wood badges with Celtic symbols on "claw style wood hoops". Kelly calls these drums "my green precious emeralds." He uses a DW 5000 kick pedal, and Zildjian cymbals. Rick Barton (musician)
Rick Barton is an American musician and producer from Boston, MA who is currently the singer, guitarist and songwriter of the band Continental. Barton was previously a founding member and guitarist of the rock band, The Outlets and a founding member and guitarist for the punk band Dropkick Murphys. Barton along with his brother David Alex Barton formed The Outlets in the early 80s and were an acclaimed live band in the Boston area. The Outlets attained success in the greater Boston music scene but failed to gain national attention when they signed with Restless/Enigma in 1985, despite modest critical acclaim including a recommendation from Billboard Magazine. They are best known for the single "Knock Me Down", which was a regional hit. Bass Guitar
The bass guitar, electric bass or simply bass (), is the lowest-pitched member of the string family. It is a plucked string instrument similar in appearance and construction to an electric or an acoustic guitar, but with a longer neck and scale length, and typically four to six strings or courses. Ken Casey
Kenneth William Casey Jr. (born April 15, 1969) is an American musician who is a bass guitarist, primary songwriter, and one of the lead singers of the Boston Celtic punk group the Dropkick Murphys. Casey was one of the original members, starting the band in 1996 with guitarist Rick Barton and singer Mike McColgan. He is the only original member of the Dropkick Murphys left in the band, though drummer Matt Kelly joined shortly after formation in 1997. He is known for his melodic vocal parts and solid punk rock bass playing. Dropkick Murphys released their tenth album '' Turn Up That Dial'' on April 30, 2021. Finnegan's Wake
"Finnegan's Wake" is an Irish-American comic ballad, first published in New York in 1864. Various 19th-century variety theatre performers, including Dan Bryant of Bryant's Minstrels, claimed authorship but a definitive account of the song's origin has not been established. An earlier popular song, John Brougham's "A Fine Ould Irish Gintleman," also included a verse in which an apparently dead alcoholic was revived by the power of whiskey. "Scotland the Brave" ( gd, Alba an Àigh) is a Scottish patriotic song, one of three often considered an unofficial Scottish national anthem (the others being "Flower of Scotland", and "Scots Wha Hae").
