Do Not Disturb (Bananarama Song)
"Do Not Disturb" is a song recorded by English girl group Bananarama. It was written and produced by the production duo of Steve Jolley and Tony Swain. Originally released as a stand-alone single in 1985, the track was later added to Bananarama's third album '' True Confessions'', which was issued by London Records a year later. "Do Not Disturb" was released in the UK, Australia, Germany, and Japan but only charted in the UK. Bananarama didn't like the song. Group member Keren Woodward later said of the ''True Confessions'' album, "It is all our ideas, it is what we wanted to sound like and sing about. Except 'Do Not Disturb' which Swain and Jolley wrote and which we don't think is very good. That's why there's eleven songs on the LP instead of ten". Keren Woodward
Keren Jane Woodward (born 2 April 1961) is an English singer and, with Sara Dallin and Siobhan Fahey, a founding member of the girl group Bananarama. In 1986, the trio reached number one on the US ''Billboard'' Hot 100 with their version of "Venus". Woodward and Dallin are the only constant members of Bananarama, and both have been a part of the group for over 40 years since 1979. Early life Woodward is a classically-trained pianist; she sang in choirs and performed in amateur dramatics with Dallin, whom she has known since childhood. After leaving school, Woodward worked at the BBC in Portland Place, London. Career Woodward formed Bananarama with Dallin and Fahey, releasing their first single " Aie a Mwana" in 1981. True Confessions (album)
''True Confessions'' is the third studio album by English group Bananarama. It was released on 14 July 1986 by London Records. The majority of the album was produced by Tony Swain and Steve Jolley (who produced Bananarama's eponymous second album), with the exception of "Venus" and "More Than Physical". The latter, given a garage remix for its single version, was Bananarama's first songwriting collaboration with the Stock Aitken Waterman (SAW) production team. The album contains the group's most commercially successful single to date, a cover version of Shocking Blue's 1969 song "Venus", which peaked at number one on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 in the United States. ''True Confessions'' reached number 46 on the UK Albums Chart and number 15 on the US ''Billboard'' 200, becoming the group's highest-charting album on the latter chart. Girl Group
A girl group is a music act featuring several female singers who generally harmonize together.
