''Life Is Full of Possibilities'' is the third studio album by American electronic music producer Dntel. It was released on October 30, 2001 by Plug Research. "(This Is) The Dream of Evan and Chan", a collaboration with Ben Gibbard of Death Cab for Cutie, was released as a single on August 6, 2002. Dntel would collaborate with Gibbard again for an entire album, '' Give Up'', released in 2003 under the name The Postal Service. The song "Life Is Full of Possibilities" includes a repeating sample of Bloop, a sound of undetermined origin. A two-disc remastered deluxe edition of ''Life Is Full of Possibilities'' was released on October 24, 2011 by Sub Pop, which featured four additional songs not included on the initial release, along with remixed versions of other songs from the album. The Postal Service are an American indie pop supergroup from Seattle, Washington, consisting of singer Ben Gibbard, producer Jimmy Tamborello, and Jenny Lewis on background vocals. The band released their only album, '' Give Up'', in 2003 on Sub Pop Records, to mostly positive reviews. The album reached number 114 on the US '' Billboard'' 200 album chart and received platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of America. The Postal Service remained largely inactive from 2005 until 2013 when they reunited for a tour and released a re-issue of ''Give Up'' to celebrate its tenth anniversary. Figurine (band)
Figurine is an American electronic music group. The band members, friends since high school, use the pseudonyms David Figurine (Forster David Rudolph), James Figurine (Jimmy Tamborello) and Meredith Figurine (Meredith Landman). While the band seems to be inactive , all three members are also involved in other bands or have released solo work under their respective Figurine monikers. Mainly a long distance collaboration, the band was a precursor to James Figurine/Tamborello's later, more commercially successful project The Postal Service. Tamborello has also used the Figurine pseudonym for an official remix of Bright Eyes' '' Easy/Lucky/Free'' in 2005 and a solo album in 2006. Meredith is also a vocalist for Boothby. Figurine lyrics commonly tell whimsical love stories involving technology, such as space stations, instant messaging or internet cafes. KXLU (88.9 FM) is a radio station broadcasting out of Loyola Marymount University in southwest Los Angeles, California. It was first on the air in 1957, and in 2007, celebrated its 50th anniversary. It is a non-commercial college radio station that plays many styles of music broadly classified under rock, specialty, fine arts, alternative music and Latin jazz. KXLU has a small, cult following among music fans in the general Los Ángeles metropolitan area. Glitch is a genre of electronic music that emerged in the 1990s. It is distinguished by the deliberate use of glitch-based audio media and other sonic artifacts. The glitching sounds featured in glitch tracks usually come from audio recording device or digital electronics malfunctions, such as CD skipping, electric hum, digital or analog distortion, circuit bending, bit-rate reduction, hardware noise, software bugs, computer crashes, vinyl record hiss or scratches, and system errors. Sometimes devices that were already broken are used, and sometimes devices are broken expressly for this purpose.
