Diving At The 2022 Commonwealth Games – Women's Synchronised 10 Metre Platform
The women's synchronised 10 metre platform is part of the 2022 Commonwealth Games diving program. The competition will be held on 6 August 2022 at Sandwell Aquatics Centre in Birmingham, England. Schedule All times are BST (UTC+1) Format A single round will be held, with each team making five dives. Eleven judges score each dive: three for each diver, and five for synchronisation. Only the middle score counts for each diver, with the middle three counting for synchronisation. Sandwell Aquatics Centre
Sandwell Aquatics Centre is an indoor facility located in Londonderry, Smethwick, West Midlands, England. It contains an Olympic-size swimming pool (one of only two in the West Midlands region), a 10-metre diving board with 25 metre pool (the only one in the whole of the Midlands), a community swimming pool and permanent seating for 1,000 spectators with an additional 4,000 seats during the Games. Construction began in January 2020 and opened on 12th April 2022 to mark 100 days until the start of the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham. The centre was initially used for the 2022 Commonwealth Games and was the only venue constructed for the games. After the games, the centre is scheduled to be redeveloped and will officially open for public use in May 2023 when it will be operated by the Sandwell Leisure Trust. Emily Boyd (diver)
Emily Boyd (born 12 March 1995) is an Australian diver who competes in the 3m and 10m individual events, as well as the 10m synchronised. She is a commonwealth bronze medallist in the mixed synchronised 10 m platform competing alongside Cassiel Rousseau. Early life Boyd was born in Warrington, England. At the age of 12 years, her family moved to Australia settling in Brisbane, Queensland. Boyd started out as gymnast whilst in England but was later attracted to diving after watching a friend's training session. After moving to Australia, she went to a school holiday clinic at Chandler and she got hooked up to diving fully. Career She was part of the Australian team for the 2012 FINA World Junior Championships, before making the senior titles in Barcelona the following year where she finished 4th in the 10m platform synchronised with Lara Tarvit. Celina Toth (born March 20, 1992) is a Canadian diver in the platform (10 metre) events. Toth currently resides and trains in Victoria, British Columbia. Dato Pandelela Rinong Pamg, (born 2 March 1993) is a Malaysian diver. She has won two Olympic medals and seven World Championships medals. Pandelela represented Malaysia at the 2008 Summer Olympics where she finished 27th in 10m platform. She won the gold medal at the 2010 Commonwealth Games. She was chosen to be the flagbearer of Malaysia at the 2012 Summer Olympics. Nur Dhabitah binti Sabri (born 12 July 1999) is a Malaysian diver. She is the youngest Malaysian diver to champion two senior international competitions. Early and personal life Dhabitah was born in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to Sabri Hashim and Fazidah Jaafar. She is the youngest among four siblings. Initially, she started her aquatic exposure through swimming clubs. After several competition, her father decided to switch her into diving due to her small body physique. Diving At The 2022 Commonwealth Games
Diving is one of the sports contested at the 2022 Commonwealth Games, to be held in Birmingham, England. The sport has been staged in all twenty-one previous editions of the Games thus far, and will be contested in England for the third time. The competition is scheduled to take place between 4 and 8 August 2022, spread across twelve events, two more than in Gold Coast as mixed-sex 3 metre and 10 metre synchronised events are held for the first time. All individual events shall have preliminaries and finals, while synchronised events will be a straight final. Melissa Wu
Melissa Paige Li Kun Wu (born 3 May 1992) is an Australian diver who has represented Australia at four Olympic Games, winning a silver medal at the 2008 Olympic Games and a bronze medal at the 2020 Olympic Games.
