Diversions The Dance Company Of Wales
National Dance Company Wales (NDCWales), formerly Diversions, is the national dance company of Wales. It was established in 1983 by Roy Campbell-Moore and Ann Sholem and is funded by the Arts Council of Wales. It was renamed in 2009. Matthew Robinson was appointed Artistic Director in 2020. National Dance Company Wales is a resident company at the Wales Millennium Centre and is a contemporary dance company which performs work from established international choreographers and tours throughout the UK and abroad. Programmes of dance are presented within the format of double and triple bills. The company also runs a wide range of participation, professional development and "engagement opportunities" for people of all ages. Roy Campbell-Moore
Roy Campbell-Moore is a Scottish artist, dancer and choreographer. He is best known for his contributions to arts in Wales and for co-founding the internationally recognised National Dance Company Wales in 1983 with his spouse, Ann Sholem. In 2013, the couple were presented with a ''Lifetime Achievement Award'' at the Theatre Critics of Wales Awards for their contribution to the arts scene in Wales. He now holds the position of Founding Director and Associate Artist at National Dance Company Wales. He continues to direct new dance, opera and musical productions and works with young people to give them opportunities to train and perform. He is now also a successful dance photographer, showing his work internationally. The Arts Council of Wales (ACW; cy, Cyngor Celfyddydau Cymru) is a Welsh Government-sponsored body, responsible for funding and developing the arts in Wales. Wales Millennium Centre ( cy, Canolfan Mileniwm Cymru) is an arts centre located in the Cardiff Bay area of Cardiff, Wales. The site covers a total area of . Contemporary dance is a genre of dance performance that developed during the mid-twentieth century and has since grown to become one of the dominant genres for formally trained dancers throughout the world, with particularly strong popularity in the U.S. and Europe. Alexander Ekman
Karl Wilhelm Alexander Ekman (born 1984) is a Swedish ballet dancer and choreographer. His choreographies have been performed by Les Ballets de Monte Carlo, the Boston Ballet, the Semperoper Ballett, the Nederlands Dans Theater, the Norwegian National Ballet, the Royal Swedish Ballet, the , the Sydney Dance Company and the Wiener Staatsballett.
