Disney's Greatest Villains
"Disney's Greatest Villains" is a 1977 episode of ''Walt Disney anthology television series, The Wonderful World of Disney'' which originally aired on NBC on May 15, 1977. Synopsis A follow-up to the 1956 episode "Our Unsung Villains", this updated version was used to showcase The Rescuers, Madame Medusa, the newest villainess in the then upcoming animated film, ''The Rescuers''. Hans Conried reprises his role as the Magic Mirror (Snow White), Magic Mirror from "Our Unsung Villains" and other television specials to host the program. The Magic Mirror explains the importance of villains and introduces clips of various Disney villains while also providing biased, yet humorous, commentary. Most of the villains received a good-sized clip from their respective films, although some were featured in very brief 30-second segments. Walt Disney Anthology Television Series
The Walt Disney Company has produced an anthology television series since 1954 under several titles and formats. The program's current title, ''The Wonderful World of Disney'', was used from 1969 to 1979 and again from 1991 onward. The program moved among the Big Three television networks in its first four decades, but has aired on ABC since 1997. The original version of the series premiered on ABC in 1954. The show was broadcast weekly on one of the Big Three television networks until 1983. After a two-year hiatus it resumed, running regularly until 1991. From 1991 until 1997, the series aired infrequently. The program resumed a regular schedule in 1997 on the ABC fall schedule, coinciding with Disney's purchase of ABC in 1996. From 1997 to 2008, the program aired regularly on ABC. Lady Tremaine
Lady Tremaine is a fictional character who appears in Walt Disney Productions' animated film ''Cinderella'' (1950) and its direct-to-video sequels '' Cinderella II: Dreams Come True'' (2002) and '' Cinderella III: A Twist in Time'' (2007). In the original film, Lady Tremaine is voiced by Eleanor Audley. For the sequels and subsequent appearances, Audley was succeeded by Susanne Blakeslee. Lady Tremaine treats Cinderella, her step-daughter, like a scullery maid and focuses all of her attention on her own two daughters, Anastasia and Drizella. "Disney's Halloween Treat" is a 1982 Halloween-themed episode of ''Walt Disney'' which originally aired October 30, 1982 on CBS. Plot The episode is narrated by a jack-o'-lantern puppet (voiced by Hal Douglas) and features a compilation of Disney short cartoons involving spooky or supernatural themes as well as excerpted segments of various villains from Disney feature films. The opening and closing credits feature an orange colorized version of the 1929 ''Silly Symphony'' short ''The Skeleton Dance'' as well as its own title theme song, sung in the opening and closing credits. The lyrics were written by Galen R. Brandt with music by John Debney. "Halloween Hall o' Fame" is a 1977 Halloween-themed episode of ''The Wonderful World of Disney'' which originally aired on October 30, 1977. Synopsis Jonathan Winters stars as a night watchman working late at Walt Disney Studios on Halloween night. He is accompanied by his dog, Peanuts. The night watchman, bitter about working on Halloween night, stumbles upon the prop room at the studio and begins acting out scenes with various props. Eventually, he finds a crystal ball and removes a blanket containing a talking Jack-o'-lantern (also played by Winters). Jack-o'-lantern is hiding out from Halloween because it's no longer scary like it was back in "the olden days". The night watchman disagrees with Jack and tells him that he oughta be ashamed of himself for hiding out on Halloween. Kaa is a fictional character from ''The Jungle Book'' stories written by Rudyard Kipling. In the books and many of the screen adaptations, Kaa is an ally of protagonist Mowgli, acting as a friend and trusted mentor or father figure alongside Bagheera and Baloo. However, Disney's screen adaptations portray him as a secondary antagonist who attempts to eat Mowgli. Shere Khan (Disney)
Shere Khan () is a fictional Bengal tiger featured in the Mowgli stories of Rudyard Kipling's ''Jungle Book''. He is often portrayed as the main antagonist in the book's media adaptations, itself an exaggeration of his role in the original stories, in which he only appears a third of the time. Shere Khan is named after Afghan Emperor Sher Shah Suri. ''Khan'' is a title of distinction among the Turco-Mongol peoples, usually meaning ''chief'' or ''ruler''. The Queen of Hearts is a fictional character and the main antagonist in the 1865 book ''Alice's Adventures in Wonderland'' by Lewis Carroll.
