Discoveries Soccer Club was a soccer club from Rock Hill, South Carolina that competed in the Deep South Division of USL League Two. They joined USL League Two for the 2019 USL League Two season. Their first match ended in a 0–0 draw with the Charlotte Eagles. USL League Two
USL League Two (USL2), formerly the Premier Development League (PDL), is a semi-professional developmental soccer league sponsored by United Soccer Leagues in the United States and Canada, forming part of the United States soccer league system. The league features 113 teams for 2022, split into sixteen regional divisions across four conferences. USL League Two is headquartered in Tampa, Florida. Ventura County Fusion are the current champions, having defeated Long Island Rough Riders 2–1 in the 2022 USL League Two Championship game on August 6, 2022. The 2019 USL League Two season is the 25th season of what was formerly the Premier Development League, and the first under the new brand. The regular season started on May 3 and ended on July 14. Rock Hill, South Carolina
Rock Hill is the largest city in York County, South Carolina and the fifth-largest city in the state. It is also the fourth-largest city of the Charlotte metropolitan area, behind Charlotte, Concord, and Gastonia (all located in North Carolina, unlike Rock Hill). Charlotte Independence Soccer Club, sometimes referred to as Charlotte Independence II, is a soccer club from Rock Hill, South Carolina that competes in the Deep South Division of USL League Two. They are the affiliate of USL League One club Charlotte Independence. Despite the similar name and using the same logo, they are a separately owned and operated club from the professional team, instead merely affiliated with them. The club was formed following the merger of Discoveries SC, Carolina Rapids, and Lake Norman SC to form the Charlotte Independence Soccer Club which will serve as the affiliate club for the Charlotte Independence of the USL League One. Charlotte Independence is an American soccer team based in Charlotte, North Carolina that plays in the USL League One, the third tier of the American soccer pyramid. The Independence currently play their home games at American Legion Memorial Stadium in the Elizabeth neighborhood of Charlotte, North Carolina. ''The Herald'' is a daily morning newspaper published in Rock Hill, South Carolina, in the United States. Its coverage is York, Chester, and Lancaster counties. In 1990, the paper was bought by The McClatchy Company of Sacramento, California. After McClatchy claimed bankruptcy in 2020, the paper was bought by Chatham Asset Management. History The paper became a semi-weekly in 1893. In 1911, it was converted to a daily afternoon paper — except Sundays — and renamed ''The Evening Herald''. That name and production schedule would endure for 75 years through several ownership changes.
