Diriyah Arena
The Diriyah Arena is an outdoor arena in Diriyah, Saudi Arabia. It has a capacity of 15,000. History The arena was first used for the mega fight between Anthony Joshua and Andy Ruiz. (Clash on the Dunes) The bout took place in December 2019 where Anthony Joshua avenged his defeat in New York by Unanimous Decision. In February 2023, YouTube star Jake Paul took on Tommy Fury which he lost by Split Decision. Built up as (The Truth) the event brought in over 800 thousand PPV buys. The arena has also hosted tennis events and has been renovated. The arena will host more sporting events in future years. Diriyah
Diriyah ( ar, الدِرْعِيّة), formerly romanized as Dereyeh and Dariyya), is a town in Saudi Arabia located on the north-western outskirts of the Saudi capital, Riyadh. Diriyah was the original home of the Saudi royal family, and served as the capital of the Emirate of Diriyah under the first Saudi dynasty from 1727 to 1818. Today, the town is the seat of the Diriyah Governorate, which also includes the villages of Uyayna, Jubayla, and Al-Ammariyyah, among others, and is part of Ar Riyad Province. The Turaif district, the first capital of Saudis, in Diriyah was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2010. The layout of the city itself can be easily studied in the National Museum of Saudi Arabia with the help of a large-scale detailed model of the city on display there. Jake Paul vs Tommy Fury, billed as ''The Truth'', was a cruiserweight professional crossover boxing match contested between American YouTuber Jake Paul and English professional boxer Tommy Fury. The bout took place at Diriyah Arena in Diriyah, Saudi Arabia on 26 February 2023. Fury won by split decision. The fight sold over 800,000 PPV buys. Background Originally, Paul was scheduled to fight Tommy Fury on 18 December 2021. However, due to an injury, Fury pulled from the fight and was replaced by former UFC Welterweight Champion Tyron Woodley instead in a rematch billed as '' Leave No Doubt''. Paul was scheduled to fight Fury again on 6 August 2022. However, Fury pulled out of the bout due to travel issues. It was announced on 7 July 2022, that Hasim Rahman Jr. would replace Fury in the fight.
