Direction Générale De L'armement
The Direction générale de l’armement (DGA; English: Directorate General of Armaments), is the French Government Defence procurement and technology agency responsible for project management, development and purchase of weapon systems for the French military.(Nuclear warheads and nuclear submarine power plants are designed by the division of military applications of the Commissariat à l’énergie atomique (CEA)). The DGA's mission is to prepare the future of French defense systems, equip the French armed forces and promote French defense industry exports. Armament project coordination The DGA coordinates armament projects with the industry in France, within Europe, but also with customers for export. Together with the Europe of Defence organisation, the DGA promotes the development of armament projects in co-operation and contributes to the development of the European Defence Agency. The ENSTA Paris, officially École nationale supérieure de techniques avancées ( en, Superior National School of Advanced Techniques) is a prestigious French graduate school of engineering ("''école d'ingénieurs''"). Founded in 1741, it is the oldest "''grande école''" in France. It is located in Palaiseau in the south of Paris, on the Paris-Saclay campus, and is a constituent faculty of the Polytechnic Institute of Paris. In 2021, 180 engineers graduated from the school. Henri Martre
Henri Martre (6 February 1928 – 3 July 2018) was a French telecommunications engineer. He headed both the Délégation générale pour l'armement, the aerospace conglomerate Aérospatiale and the French Aerospace Industries Association (GIFAS). He was considered one of the main promoters in France of "competitive intelligence". Henri Martre received the Grand Croix of the Légion d'honneur on 31 December 2002. Biography Martre was born on 6 February 1928 in Bélesta, Ariège. He was admitted at the École Polytechnique in 1947 and chose the Corps of Military Telecom (which later merged into the Corps de l'armement) upon graduation in 1950. In 1952 he graduated from Sup Télécom. The ''Corps des mines'' is the foremost technical Grand Corps of the French State (grands corps de l'Etat). It is composed of the state industrial engineers. The Corps is attached to the French Ministry of Economy and Finance. Its purpose is to entice French students in mathematics and physics to serve the government and train them for executive careers in France. Members are educated at the École nationale supérieure des mines de Paris, also known as Mines ParisTech. Each year, the Corps recruits between 10 and 20 members. The Corps de l'armement, or ''corps des ingénieurs de l'armement'' is a Technical Grand Corps of the French State (''grand corps de l'Etat''), aimed at providing the French Armed Forces with all appropriate equipment and at supervising the French Aerospace & Defence industry. Its members are the ''ingénieurs de l'armement'', or ''ingénieurs du corps de l'armement'', nicknamed "''IA''" in French.
