''Diplomacy'' is a 1926 American silent mystery film produced by Famous Players-Lasky and distributed through Paramount Pictures. The movie is an update of the play ''Dora'' by Victorien Sardou. Marshall Neilan directs his then wife Blanche Sweet who stars. Marshall Neilan
Marshall Ambrose "Mickey" Neilan (April 11, 1891 – October 27, 1958) was an American actor. Early life Born in San Bernardino, California, Neilan was known by most as "Mickey." Following the death of his father, the eleven-year-old Mickey Neilan had to give up on school to work at whatever he could find in order to help support his mother. As a teenager, he began acting in bit parts in theatre, live theatre, and in 1910 he got a job as chauffeur, driving Biograph Studios executives around Los Angeles to determine the suitability of the West Coast of the United States, West Coast as a place for a permanent studio. Career Neilan made his film debut as part of the acting cast on the American Film Manufacturing Company Western (genre), Western ''The Stranger at Coyote'' (1912). Edgar Norton
Edgar Norton (born Harry Edgar Mills; August 11, 1868 – February 6, 1953) was an English-born American character actor. Early years Norton was born in Islington in London, England, on August 11, 1868, as Harry Edgar Mills, one of eight children of Jane Anne ''née'' Fleming and Frederic Mills, a clerk in the Home Office department of the Civil Service. Career Norton was active on both stage and screen, his theater performances were on both the London and Broadway stages, and his film career spanned both the silent and "talkie" eras in Hollywood. Aged 18, he appeared as the Hare in the original production of '' Alice in Wonderland'' in London in 1886, with the production being under the guidance of Lewis Carroll, who saw the musical five times. During his thirty-year film career, he appeared in at least ninety films.
