Ciudad Altamirano, is a Mexican city of the state of Guerrero and serves as the municipal seat for Pungarabato. It is part of the Tierra Caliente region of said entity. Carlos Garfias Merlos (born 1 January 1951) is a Mexican prelate of the Catholic Church who has been Archbishop of Morelia since 2016. Biography Carlos Garfias Merlos was born in Tuxpan, Michoacán, on 1 January 1951. He studied humanities, philosophy and theology at the Seminary of Morelia. He earned a masters and a doctorate in psychotherapy and spirituality at the la Universidad Intercontinental in Mexico City. On 23 November 1975, he was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Morelia. José Raúl Vera López is a Mexican friar of the Dominican Order and since 2000 bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Saltillo. He is known as well for his struggle for human rights and social justice. Biography Early life and formation Vera López was born on 21 June 1945 in Acámbaro. In 1968 he started his religious training in the novitiate of the Order of Preachers, also known as the Dominican Order, in the Central Mexican city of León. Subsequently he studied philosophy in Mexico City and in theology in Bologna in Italy.
