Dinesh Dhanai
Dinesh Dhanai (born 4 November 1970) is an Indian politician. He has run as an independent MLA in Tehri (2012-2017) and served as a minister in the last Congress government in Uttarakhand. Early life and education Dinesh Dhanai was born in 1970 in the village of Khand Gaon (Patti Athoor) near Old Tehri, Tehri Garhwal district, into a Rajput family, to Gabbar Singh Dhanai and Phool Devi. He is an alumnus of SRTC Campus Old Tehri (Tehri Garhwal). He started his political career as a party worker in 1986. Political career Dhanai joined the Indian National Congress in 1986 at Garhwal University (SRTC). He also served as a president of his university in 1992 - SRTC Garhwal University (Old Tehri). Harish Singh Rawat (born 27 April 1948) is an Indian politician who was Chief Minister of Uttarakhand from 2014 to 2017. A five-time Member of Parliament, Rawat is a leader of the Indian National Congress party. As a member of 15th Lok Sabha, Rawat served as Union Minister of Water Resources in the cabinet of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh from 2012 to 2014. 2012 Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly Election
The 2012 Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly election were the 3rd Vidhan Sabha ( Legislative Assembly) election of the state of Uttarakhand in India. Elections were held on 30 January 2012 when Indian National Congress emerged as the largest party with 32 seats in the 70-seat legislature and formed the government with the help of Progressive Democratic Front alliance (Bahujan Samaj Party, Uttarakhand Kranti Dal (P) and Independents). Rajput (from Sanskrit ''raja-putra'' 'son of a king') is a large multi-component cluster of castes, kin bodies, and local groups, sharing social status and ideology of genealogical descent originating from the Indian subcontinent. Kishore Upadhyaya (born 1 June 1958) is an Indian politician and Member of the Legislative Assembly representing Tehri in the Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly.
