Anthony Dimond
Anthony Joseph Dimond (November 30, 1881 – May 28, 1953) was an American Democratic Party politician who was the Alaska Territory Delegate in the United States House of Representatives from 1933 to 1945. Dimond was also an early champion of Alaska statehood. Early life Dimond, known as "Tony," was born in Palatine Bridge, Montgomery County, New York and attended Catholic schools, taught school in Montgomery County (1900–1903), and was a prospector/miner in Alaska (1905–1912) before studying law and beginning practice in Valdez (1913). Political career Dimond's political experience includes: US Commissioner in Chisana, Alaska (1913–1914); Special Assistant US Attorney for the 3rd Judicial Division of Alaska in Valdez (1917); Mayor of Valdez (1920–1922, 1925–1932); Alaska Territorial Senate (1923–1926, 1929–1932); and District Judge for the 3rd Division of Alaska (1945–1953). Bobby Dimond
Robert Henry Dimond (30 July 1930 – 30 May 2020) was an Australian rugby league footballer who played in the 1940s and 1950s. He was selected to play for Australia and was a member of the 1948 Kangaroo Tour. He played 20 matches on the tour and scored ten tries, but did not play in a test match. He died in Mexico due to prolonged illness. Playing career Born in Dapto, New South Wales, he is the older brother of Peter Dimond. He made his first grade debut at the age of sixteen. Most Holy Family Monastery (also stylized as MHFM) is a non-profit sedevacantist Feeneyite Catholic organization, based in Fillmore, New York. It is headed by two brothers, Brothers Michael and Peter Dimond. MHFM is known for its persistent defense of Feeneyism and their criticism of the Catholic doctrine of baptism of desire. According to a spokesperson for the Diocese of Buffalo the monastery is neither affiliated with the diocese nor the Roman Catholic Church. In 1999, the Catholic League, in its annual report on anti-Catholicism, described MHFM as "a dissident organization that challenges ..papal authority", reporting the monastery's publication of a pamphlet entitled "101 Heresies of Anti-Pope John Paul II". Peter Dimond (28 November 1938 – 21 April 2021) was an Australian rugby league footballer who played his club rugby league for Western Suburbs. Born in Dapto, New South Wales, he is the younger brother of former Australian test player and New South Wales representative Bobby Dimond. He is also the father of former Illawarra Steelers, Cronulla Sharks and Canberra Raiders utility Craig Dimond. Peter was named both in the Western Suburbs Team of the Century and the Wests Tigers Team of the Century. Playing career Dimond was selected at age 14 in a New South Wales schoolboy side in a curtain raiser to the 1952 Australia and New Zealand Test match. William Fisher Peach Dimond (11 December 1781 – c1837) was a playwright of the early 19th-century who wrote about thirty works for the theatre, including plays, operas, musical entertainments and melodramas. Life He was born in Bath in Somerset in December 1781, the eldest surviving son of William Wyatt Dimond (1750–1812), an actor and theatrical manager, and his wife, Matilda Martha, ''née'' Baker (1757–1823). His father was the manager at the Old Orchard Street Theatre and later the Theatre Royal, Bath together with the Theatre Royal in Bristol. William Dimond received his education from the Rev. William Wyatt Dimond (1750 – 2 January 1812) was an actor and theatre manager of the late 18th-century whose career was largely based in Bath in Somerset. Early career ''The Monthly Mirror'' for May 1808 made a number of fanciful claims about the origin and childhood of Dimond, perhaps based on information supplied by Dimond himself; it claimed that he had been born in London and that while young his father had died leading his mother to remarry to a naval officer. It further added that Dimond had been sent as a boarder to Richmond Grammar School where he received the rudiments of a classical education and where he remained until the age of 15 when it was claimed a commission was purchased for him in the British Army. The Dimond Center is a regional shopping mall in Anchorage, Alaska, United States, located on the southwest corner of East Dimond Boulevard and the Old Seward Highway in south Anchorage. This is the largest enclosed mall in the state of Alaska, though the open-air Tikahtnu Commons in NE Anchorage has a greater GLA. The mall is anchored by Best Buy, Dave & Buster's and a 9-screen Regal Cinemas theater. The Dimond District () is a neighborhood centered on the intersection of MacArthur Boulevard and Fruitvale Avenue in East Oakland, California, in the United States.
