Dimitra, Arcadia
Dimitra ( el, Δήμητρα; before 1928: Δίβριτσα – ''Divritsa'') is a village and a community in the municipal unit of Kontovazaina, Arcadia, Greece. In 2011, it had a population of 103 for the village, and 111 for the community, which includes the village Stavri. Dimitra is situated on a mountain slope on the right bank of the river Ladon. It is 3 km southeast of Kontovazaina, 7 km northwest of Tropaia, 5 km northwest of the Ladon Lake dam and 50 km northwest of Tripoli. Arcadia (regional Unit)
Arcadia ( el, Αρκαδία, ''Arkadía'' ) is one of the regional units of Greece. It is part of the administrative region of Peloponnese. It is in the central and eastern part of the Peloponnese peninsula. It takes its name from the mythological figure Arcas. In Greek mythology, it was the home of the god Pan. In European Renaissance arts, Arcadia was celebrated as an unspoiled, harmonious wilderness. Kontovazaina
Kontovazaina ( el, Κοντοβάζαινα) is a village and a former municipality in Arcadia, Peloponnese, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Gortynia, of which it is a municipal unit. The municipal unit has an area of 137.496 km2. In 2011 its population was 386 for the village and 1,171 for the municipal unit. Achaea borders the municipal unit to the north and Elis to the west. It is situated in mountainous northwestern Arcadia, between the rivers Erymanthos and Ladon. Ladon (river)
The Ladon (Ancient Greek and Katharevousa: , ''Ládōn''; Demotic Greek: , ''Ládōnas'') is a river in the Peloponnese peninsula of Greece. It features in Greek mythology. It is a tributary to the river Alfeios, which empties into the Ionian Sea. It is long. Course The Ladon rises on the western slope of the Aroania mountain, near the village Kastriá, Kleitoria municipal unit, Achaea. It flows south, receives its left tributary Aroanios, flows along Kleitoria and turns southwest near the Arcadian border. Ladon Lake
The Ladon Lake ( el, Τεχνητή Λίμνη Λάδωνα ''Techniti Limni Ladona'') or the Ladon Reservoir is an artificial lake in the upper part of the river Ladon, in the northwestern part of Arcadia, Greece. The 50 m high dam was built in 1955. The reservoir is situated in a sparsely populated, mountainous area.
