Digvijaya Singh
Digvijaya Singh (born 28 February 1947) is an Indian politician and a Member of Parliament in the Rajya Sabha. He is Ex-General Secretary of the Indian National Congress party's All India Congress Committee. Previously, he had served as the 14th Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, a central Indian state, for two terms from 1993 to 2003. Prior to that he was a minister in Chief Minister Arjun Singh's cabinet between 1980–84. In 2019 Lok Sabha elections he was defeated by Pragya Singh Thakur for Bhopal Lok Sabha seat. Personal life Singh was born in Indore in the erstwhile princely state of Holkar (now a part of Madhya Pradesh) of British India, on 28 February 1947. Digvijay Singh (Bihar Politician)
Digvijay Singh (14 November 1955 – 24 June 2010) was an Indian politician from the state of Bihar, and an associate of George Fernandes of Janata Dal and later Samata Party, now led by Uday Mandal its President. He represented Banka in the Lok Sabha a few times. He was elected to Rajya Sabha twice. He died on 24 June 2010 in London after suffering a brain haemorrhage. He served as a Union Minister of State in the Chandra Shekhar Government (1990–1991) and later in the Atal Bihari Vajpayee led National Democratic Alliance Government (1999–2004). He had also served as the President of National Rifle Association of India since 1999. Digvijay Singh (born 30 January 1972) is a professional golfer from India currently playing on the Professional Golf Tour of India and the Asian Tour. Singh was born in New Delhi to an Indian Army officer (Col Niranjan Singh). He had a solid amateur campaign, winning the Sri Lankan Amateur Championship in 1996 and 1997. He represented India in the Eisenhower Trophy in 1996 and 1998, and in the Nomura Cup in 1995 and 1997. He also played in the Asian Games in Bangkok in 1998. He turned professional in 1999. Professional career Singh currently holds 12 career wins on the PGTI, where he has had most of his success. He played his first full season on the Asian Tour in 2008 after 8 previous attempts to obtain his card. He enjoyed a 4th-place finish in his debut event in 2008 at the Indian Masters. Digvijay Narain Singh (1924 – 2 August 1991) was an Indian politician who served as a Member of Parliament. He started his career as a member of the Indian National Congress, later joining Morarji Desai's NCO faction in 1969, and then the Janata Party. He represented Pupri, Muzaffarpur, Hajipur, Vaishali et al. seats from Bihar in Lok Sabha from 1952 well into 1970s. He joined Janata Party in 1977 and was elected to Lok Sabha from Vaishali (Lok Sabha constituency). He was in Lok Sabha for 28 consecutive years (1952–1980). He represented Muzzafarpur from 1952 to 1957 and again from 1962 to 1971, Pupri from 1957 to 1962, Hajipur constituency from 1971 to 1977, and Vaishali from 1977 to 1980. Sir Digvijaysinhji Ranjitsinhji Jadeja (18 September 1895 – 3 February 1966) was the Maharaja Jam Sahib of Nawanagar from 1933 to 1966, succeeding his uncle, the famed cricketer Ranjitsinhji. Early life and military career Ranjitsinhji, a Yaduvanshi Rajput, was born at Sadodar, Gujarat on 18 September 1895 during the British Raj, nephew of the famed cricketer K.S. Ranjitsinhji. He was educated at The Rajkumar College, Rajkot, in Saurashtra, then at Malvern College and University College London. Commissioned as second lieutenant in the British Army in 1919, Digvijaysinhji enjoyed a military career for over two decades.
