Richard Frederick Gordon (born January 1, 1944 ) is an American former professional football player who was a wide receiver for ten seasons in the National Football League The National Football League (NFL) is a professional American football league that consists of 32 teams, divided equally between the American Football Conference (AFC) and the National Football Conference (NFC). Richard Juico Gordon (born August 5, 1945) is a Filipino lawyer and politician who most recently served as a Senator from 2016 to 2022, and previously from 2004 to 2010. He is the chairman and CEO of the Philippine Red Cross since 2004. He rose to national prominence for his work in preserving and developing the former U.S. naval base in Subic when he served as the first chairman of the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority from 1992 to 1998, and when he conceptualized the Wow Philippines campaign as Secretary of Tourism from 2001 to 2004. Gordon was the mayor of Olongapo from 1980 to 1986 and from 1988 to 1993, and was also the youngest delegate to the 1971 Constitutional Convention. Charles Richards Gordon, known as Dick "Scoop" Gordon (January 15, 1911 – December 8, 2008), was an American sports journalist whose works were a regular feature in venerable sports magazines like ''The Sporting News'', ''Sports Illustrated'', and ''Baseball Digest''. After earning his nickname "Scoop" in 1930 by reporting for '' The Daily Princetonian'' that golfing legend Bobby Jones would be retiring from active competition, Gordon went on to a sports reporting career which ended in 2008. Childhood Charles Richards Gordon grew up in St. Paul, Minnesota, the son of Charles William Gordon, the proprietor of the fur clothing manufacturer Gordon & Furguson, Inc. The Story With Dick Gordon
''The Story with Dick Gordon'' was a weekday interview program hosted by Dick Gordon, former host of WBUR's '' The Connection'' and, before that, fill-in host for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation's national radio program '' This Morning''. Produced by North Carolina Public Radio and Minnesota Public Radio and distributed by American Public Media, the show was based largely on stories and interviews chosen by listener input, though it was not a call-in show. Debuting in February 2006, the program originally was broadcast five times a week on North Carolina Public Radio and Minnesota Public Radio (American Public Media's main subsidiary). The program was rolled out nationally in early 2007. Dick Gordon decided to end the show in October 2013 (last show on the 11th), so that he could return to Canada to be closer to family.
