Tracy Scouter "Dick" Barrett (September 28, 1906 – October 30, 1966) was an American professional baseball pitcher. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Philadelphia Athletics, Boston Braves, Chicago Cubs, and Philadelphia Phillies. A native of Montoursville, Pennsylvania, he attended University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Biography Barrett had a very long minor league career, spanning 21 seasons from 1926 to 1953. Richard Barrett (Irish Republican)
Richard Barrett (17 December 1889 – 8 December 1922), commonly called Dick Barrett, was a prominent Irish Republican Army (1922–1969), Irish Republican Army officer who fought in the Irish War of Independence, War of Independence and on the Anti-Treaty side in the Irish Civil War. He was assistant quartermaster-general of the IRA with the rank of commandant. During the Civil War he was captured by Free State forces at the Four Courts on 30 June 1922 and later executed unlawfully on 8 December 1922. Barrett's execution by the Free State has been described as "murder" by Irish Taoiseach and head of Fianna Fáil party Micheál Martin. In 2011, then Taoiseach Leo Varadkar said "People who were murdered or executed without trial by the Cumann na nGaedheal Government were murdered. It was an atrocity and those people killed without a trial by the first government were murdered." Dick Barrett (politician)
Dick Barrett (born July 23, 1942) is a Democratic member of the Montana Legislature. He was elected to House District 93 which represents a portion of the Missoula area and was the State Senator of District 45 before his retirement in 2021, with his last official session occurring in 2019. During his farewell remarks to the Montana Senate Chamber on April 25, 2019 at the Montana Capitol Building in Helena, Montana, Senator Barrett serenaded his fellow members with his rendition of Arthur Sullivan's and W. Richard "Dicky" Barrett (1807–1847) was one of the first European traders to be based in New Zealand. He lent his translation skills to help negotiate the first land purchases from Maori in New Plymouth and Wellington and became a key figure in the establishment of the settlement of New Plymouth. He was described by Edward Jerningham Wakefield, son of New Zealand Company founder Edward Gibbon Wakefield, as short, stout and "perfectly round all over" and fond of relating "wild adventures and hairbreadth 'scapes".
