Despina Papamichail ( el, Δέσποινα Παπαμιχαήλ; born in Preveza, 9 February 1993) is a Greek professional tennis player. She has a career-high singles ranking of world No. 147, reached on 20 June 2022. Her highest doubles ranking is No. 162, achieved on 14 September 2015. Papamichail has won 15 singles and 35 doubles titles on the ITF Women's Circuit. Playing for the Greece Fed Cup team, Papamichail has a win–loss record of 20–25. 2019 WTA Tour
The 2019 WTA Tour was the elite professional tennis circuit organised by the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) for the 2019 tennis season. The 2019 WTA Tour calendar was composed of the Grand Slam (tennis), Grand Slam tournaments (supervised by the International Tennis Federation (ITF), the WTA Premier tournaments (Premier Mandatory, Premier 5, and regular Premier), the WTA International tournaments, the Fed Cup (organized by the ITF), and the year-end championships (the WTA Tour Championships and the WTA Elite Trophy). WTA 1000 Tournaments
WTA 1000 tournaments is a category of tennis tournaments on the WTA Tour, governed by the Women's Tennis Association. The old WTA Premier Mandatory and Premier 5 tournaments merged into a single highest tier and it is implemented since the reorganization of the schedule in 2021. As of 2021, WTA 1000 tournaments include events with prize money of approximately $1,000,000. The ranking points awarded to the winners of these tournaments are 1,000 (Mandatory: Indian Wells, Miami, Madrid, and Beijing) or 900 (non-Mandatory: Dubai/Doha, Rome, Canada, Cincinnati, Wuhan and Guadalajara). The US Open Tennis Championships is a hardcourt tennis tournament held annually in Queens, New York. Since 1987, the US Open has been chronologically the fourth and final Grand Slam tournament of the year. The other three, in chronological order, are the Australian Open, French Open and Wimbledon.
