Desaparecidos (band)
Desaparecidos was an American punk rock band from Omaha, Nebraska founded by singer/guitarist Conor Oberst. History Formation, ''Read Music/Speak Spanish'', and hiatus (2001–2010) The band formed in 2001 featuring Bright Eyes frontman Conor Oberst and several touring musicians from the same band and other life-long friends of Oberst's, as Oberst looked for a different home for the politically charged music he had written. The band name, Spanish and Portuguese for "disappeared ones" is inspired by those from the forcibly disappeared under Augusto Pinochet's right-wing military dictatorship in Chile between 1973 and 1990.. Jimmy Eat World is an American Rock music, rock band formed in Mesa, Arizona, in 1993. The band is composed of lead vocalist and lead guitarist Jim Adkins, rhythm guitarist and backing vocalist Tom Linton, bassist Rick Burch, and drummer Zach Lind. Mike Mogis is an American producer/mixer/engineer and multi-instrumentalist who owns ARC Studios (Another Recording Company) in downtown Omaha, Nebraska, Omaha. Mike, along with his brother A. J. Mogis, A.J. Mogis, founded Presto! Recording Studios (previously known as Dead Space Recording and, earlier, Whoopass Recording). Background and recording While '' Read Music/Speak Spanish'', the band's first album, focused on themes relating to socioeconomics, marriage, and the American workforce, ''Payola'' consciously tackles a wider range of political issues. ''Payola'' is a cohesive body of raw, loud, and angry songs about endemic injustice, racial profiling, the mistreatment of immigrants, corporate greed, and domestic spying. Little Brazil (band)
Little Brazil is a four-piece rock band formed in 2002 in Omaha, Nebraska by Landon Hedges of Desaparecidos and formerly of The Good Life. Originally he intended to use the name Little Brazil for his solo work, yet he recruited his friends Dan Maxwell on bass and Corey Broman on drums, who were in Secret Behind Sunday and Son, Ambulance. The last member was guitarist Austin Britton, who Landon met at an open mic night. Greg Edds was later added to guitar duties and Oliver Morgan on drums from 2004–2012. Morgan left the group in 2012, being replaced by Matt Baum of Desaparecidos for one performance. Matt Bowen played drums from 2014–2016. In 2014, Mike Friedman took over lead guitar along with drummer Nate Van Fleet joining in 2016. By the time of ''Send the Wolves'' (2018), Shawn Cox had replaced Friedman on lead guitar.
