Dermott is a city in Chicot County, Arkansas, United States. The population was 2,316 at the 2010 census. Dermott was incorporated in 1890. Dermott was home to the Dermott Crawfish Festival. Geography Dermott is located in the northwest corner of Chicot County at (33.528712, -91.437657). Bayou Bartholomew, a tributary of the Ouachita River, touches the southwest corner of the city. U.S. Route 165 passes southeast of the city center, leading north to McGehee and south to Montrose. Arkansas Highway 35 passes through the center of Dermott and leads northwest to Monticello. According to the United States Census Bureau, Dermott has a total area of , of which is land and , or 1.97%, is water. Climate The climate in this area is characterized by hot, humid summers and generally mild to cool winters. Dermott Daniel Downs (born May 25, 1962) is an American television director, actor, producer and cinematographer. He is well known for his work on the U.S. remake of ''The Tomorrow People'', and for his vast contributions to The CW's ''Arrowverse''. Career Downs first started his career as a child actor; appearing in such films as '' The Morning After'', ''Escape to Witch Mountain'', and ''Freaky Friday''. Dermott Petty is an independent filmmaker from Lisdoonvarna, County Clare in Ireland. Film career In 1998 Petty won a Dramalogue Award for his stage direction of ''The Midnight Court''. He produced a television pilot detailing his early experiences as an emigrant entitled '' Dot Ave'', and a documentary about traditional Irish Ceilidh dancing called '' A Gathering''. Dermott Lennon (born 12 June 1969) is an equestrian from Ballinaskeagh, Northern Ireland, who competes in the sport of show jumping. At the end of December 2011, he was ranked 106th – Ireland's no. 6. Dermott Hugh Brereton (born 19 August 1964) is an Australian former professional Australian rules football player in the Australian Football League (AFL) who is regarded as one of the greatest players of his generation. Of Irish descent (his parents migrated from Ireland before his birth), he was known for his aggressive style of play. James Dermott Monteith (2 June 1943 – 6 December 2009) was an Irish international cricketer. Monteith was a right-handed Batsman (cricket), batsman who bowled slow left-arm orthodox. Monteith was educated at the Royal Belfast Academical Institution and Queen's University Belfast. Career Monteith played the majority of his club cricket for Lisburn Cricket Club and also had spells at Queen's University Belfast, Queen's University and Middlesex County Cricket Club. Blake Dermott (born September 10, 1961 in Edmonton, Alberta) is a former professional Canadian football offensive lineman who played fourteen seasons in the Canadian Football League for the Edmonton Eskimos, and was named the team's Top Lineman in 1988 and 1990 and CFL All-Star in 1989 and 1994. Dermott played in 5 Grey Cups and was a part of 2 Grey Cup championship teams in 1987 and 1993. Blake currently sits in 5th place all time for most games played for the Eskimos, and was the only player in Eskimo history to start a game in every position on the Offensive Line. Dermott played CIS football for the Alberta Golden Bears and won a gold medal at the 1982 CIS Wrestling Championships for the University of Alberta. Gertrude Elliott (December 14, 1874 — December 24, 1950), later Lady Forbes-Robertson, was an American stage actress, part of an extended family of theatre professionals including her husband, Sir Johnston Forbes-Robertson, and her elder sister, Maxine Elliott. Early life Born Jessie Dermott on February 5, 1868, to Thomas Dermott, a sea captain and Adelaide Hill Dermott, she had a younger sister, actress Gertrude Elliot and at least two brothers, one of whom, a sailor, was lost at sea in the Indian Ocean.
