Derk Bodde
Derk Bodde (March 9, 1909November 3, 2003) was an American sinologist and historian of China known for his pioneering work on the history of the Chinese legal system. Bodde received his undergraduate degree from Harvard University in 1930. He spent six years (1931-1937) studying in China on a fellowship. He earned a doctorate in Chinese Studies from the University of Leiden March 3, 1938. When the Fulbright scholarship program was initiated in 1948, Bodde was the first American recipient of a one-year fellowship, which he spent studying in Beijing. He spent several decades as Professor of Chinese Studies at the University of Pennsylvania, and was a president of the American Oriental Society (1968–69). He was a member of both the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and the American Philosophical Society. Derk Boerrigter
Derk Boerrigter (; born 16 October 1986) is a retired Dutch footballer, who played most of his career as a winger. He began his professional career with Ajax, but did not make any first team appearances and was eventually loaned to Haarlem. He then played for FC Zwolle and RKC Waalwijk before rejoining Ajax. His final stint was for Celtic, joining the team in 2013 and playing there until retiring following the 2016 season. Club career Ajax (first period) Born in Oldenzaal, Boerrigter started his career in the youth department of Quick '20. At age twelve he was scouted and recruited by FC Twente, where he played in various youth squads before joining the Academy. Derk Droze (born October 29, 1972) is an American former professional soccer player, who is currently coaching in Denmark for the Danish Club FC Nordsjælland. During his playing career, he played professionally in Chile, Denmark and the United States. Droze, grew up in the Southern Maryland area, 30 miles outside Washington DC in the small town of La Plata, graduating from St. Mary's Ryken High School in 1990. Derk Jan Eppink (born 7 November 1958) is a Dutch journalist, politician in the Netherlands, and former cabinet secretary for European Commissioners Bolkestein (1999–2004) and Kallas (2004–2007). In 2009, he was elected to the European Parliament for List Dedecker, and in 2019 for Forum for Democracy. In 2021, he became an MP in the Dutch House of Representatives for the JA21 party.
