Derek Grant (drummer)
Derek Richard Grant (sometimes known as Derek R. Grant) is an American musician, singer and songwriter best known as the third and current drummer for punk rock band Alkaline Trio, having joined the band in 2001. He is also a member of Chicago "supergroup" Dead Ending. He was previously a member of The Suicide Machines, Telegraph, Gyga, Thoughts of Ionesco, Remainder, Walls of Jericho, The Exceptions and Broken Spoke. In addition to playing the drums, Grant is a guitarist and vocalist, and has filled in as guitarist for both Face to Face (1998) and The Gaslight Anthem (October 2008). He has frequently filled in on drums for Josh Freese on many Vandals Tours since 1998, and with Good Charlotte during the later half of 2004. In September 2008, Grant released an 8-song album free via his MySpace page entitled '' D.Grant Meets the Reaper'' which is a collaboration with his 12-year-old alter ego. Derek Grant (footballer)
Derek Grant (born 19 May 1966) is a Scottish professional footballer who played as a defender for Meadowbank Thistle. Club career Grant started his career at Cowdenbeath. He made 81 appearances for the Blue Brazil between 1985 and 1988. His good form earned him a £35,000 move to Airdrieonians in 1988. He spent 3 years with the Diamonds and turned out 79 times in the league for the North Lanarkshire club. The defender signed for Meadowbank Thistle in 1990 where he made 77 league appearances over the next two years. He was on the move again in 1992, this time signing for Montrose. He made 118 appearances for the Gable Endies, including a stunning winner in a 1-0 Scottish Challenge Cup quarter final tie against Stirling Albion. Grant signed for Berwick Rangers in 1996. Derek Grant (born March 18, 1974) is a Canadian retired professional ice hockey player. Early life Born in 1974 in Cornwall, Ontario, Grant played three seasons in the Ontario Hockey League with the Newmarket Royals, Niagara Falls Thunder, and Ottawa 67's. Career Grant made his professional debut during the 1994–95 AHL season with the Adirondack Red Wings of the American Hockey League. He joined the Memphis RiverKings of the Central Hockey League (CHL) for the 1995–96 CHL season, where he won the CHL Rookie of the Year Trophy. Derek Grant (born April 20, 1990) is a Canadian professional ice hockey center for ZSC Lions of the National League (NL). After being drafted in the 4th round (119th overall) of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft by the Ottawa Senators, Grant played with the NCAA Division I collegiate ice hockey with the Michigan State Spartans men's ice hockey team from 2009 to 2011. During this time, he earned numerous CCHA honors including being an Honorable Mention for the CCHA All-Rookie Team. Following his sophomore season, Grant joined the Senators organization and was assigned to their American Hockey League affiliate, the Binghamton Senators, to finish out the 2010–11 season. During this time, he helped the Senators in their 2011 Calder Cup playoffs push and won a Calder Cup.
